Lampeter-Strasburg School District

Learning. Listening. Leading. Linking.

Overview

Lampeter-Strasburg Athletics

The Lampeter-Strasburg Athletic Department believes interscholastic sport is designed to promote participation and to develop positive values, healthy habits, physical skills and personal ethics.

Additionally, we believe involvement in inter-scholastic sport promotes many of the attitudes we want our young people to develop in life: self-discipline, a sense of fairness, fitness, resiliency, the capacity to make decisions under pressure, the pursuit of excellence, taking pride in one’s own accomplishments without doing so at the expense of others, and the delight of playing a game for the pure challenge and fun of it. The Lampeter-Strasburg Athletic Department will continually strive to instill these values in our coaches and student athletes.

Watch the Pioneers Online With Hudl

A white abstract symbol resembling three interconnected shapes on an orange square background.

Together with Hudl, we offer a live stream of games played in the gym and stadium.

If you can attend games, we encourage you to do so, but we want to give people who can’t physically attend the ability to tune in and support Pioneer athletics. With our live stream, working parents, faraway family members, alumni, and anyone else who wants to watch can support our athletes.

Annual, monthly, and single-game passes are available. A single-game pass is $8, a monthly pass is $15, and a yearly pass is $75. A mobile app is available for streaming on phones, computers, and SmartTVs (up to three devices per account). Thanks for your support. Pioneers, All Day, Every Day.

  • The governing organization under which we participate is the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). The PIAA is divided into districts, ours is District III. District III encompasses the following leagues: Mid-Penn Conference, Lancaster-Lebanon League, York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association, Berks County Interscholastic Athletic Association, Tri-Valley League, and Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference. Our league within is the Lancaster-Lebanon League. Twenty-six schools participate in boys and girls sports. In an attempt to assure a "level playing field", the league is divided into sections. This is typically based on enrollment.

  • The NCAA Eligibility Center verifies the academic and amateur status of all student-athletes who wish to compete in Division I or II athletics.

College-bound student-athletes who want to practice, compete and receive athletically related financial aid during their first year at a Division I or II school need to meet certain requirements.

Division III colleges and universities set their own admission standards. The NCAA does not set initial eligibility requirements in Division III.

For more detail about academic requirements visit the Eligibility Center.

    NAIA

Similar in some respects to the NCAA eligibility registration requirement, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) requires all high school student-athletes interested in participating in intercollegiate athletics at a NAIA member college or university to register with the NAIA Eligibility Center at Play NAIA. To play NAIA sports, every student-athlete must be registered with the NAIA Eligibility Center. A one-time $60 registration fee is assessed.

Helpful links for prospective NAIA student-athletes are provided on the website Play NAIA under Students–>How to Register: Prospective Student-Athletes. Further links on this page are at the bottom: Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete and Am I Eligible?
