High School Hosts Inaugural Career Fair

On October 14, Lampeter-Strasburg High School (LSHS) sophomores took an exciting step toward their futures at the district’s first-ever Career Fair. The event gave students a hands-on chance to explore local employment options and hear directly from industry professionals about careers in Lancaster County.
The school’s Advisory team organized the fair in partnership with the Lancaster STEM Alliance and more than 20 business partners. Over the course of an hour, sophomores met with representatives, asked questions, and explored a wide range of career paths available after graduation.
This career exploration initiative is an extension of the ongoing LSHS Advisory program. It pairs small groups of students with a faculty mentor starting in ninth grade and continuing through the end of junior year. Meeting monthly, these advisory sessions help students navigate high school, build strong interpersonal connections, and prepare for post-secondary success.
Bringing an event like this to life takes teamwork and strong community support. Special thanks to School Board member Suzi Knowles and the Advisory team for all their hard work. And thank you to all the participating businesses and organizations that generously gave their time and sent representatives to mentor and inspire our students:
