NAHS members at last week's induction ceremony
The Lampeter-Strasburg High School chapter of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) held its induction ceremony on Thursday, November 13, welcoming 17 new talented student artists. Now in its second year, the NAHS chapter continues to grow in both membership and impact.
This year’s ceremony featured guest speaker Mary Spaulding, retired Pequea Valley School District art teacher and longtime supporter of visual arts programs in Lancaster County. After her teaching career, Mrs. Spaulding played a key role in facilitating local Scholastic Art & Writing exhibitions and later helped establish the Lancaster County Young Artists show. She is also the wife of former LSHS principal Dr. Dale Spaulding and the mother and grandmother of several L-S graduates and current students.
The new inductees join 10 returning members to form this year’s NAHS group. To be eligible, students must be in grades 10–12, complete at least two art courses, maintain a strong overall GPA, and submit an art-focused essay addressing the National Honor Society pillars of knowledge, scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Congratulations to the 2025 NAHS inductees!
