High School January 2026 Students of the Month
Congratulations to Brianna Jackson, Jonah Cooper, Carter Peters, and Konrad Poniatowski, the latest LSHS Students of the Month!

Lampeter-Strasburg High School teachers lauded four exceptional students for their achievements in January, 2026.
Pioneer Superlatives
Brianna Jackson - Brianna is a junior and the daughter of Lamar and Diane Jackson of Lancaster. At school, she's a member of the Mini-THON executive committee, a Link Crew Leader (mentor for incoming freshmen), and a member of the Pioneer Interact Club, National Honor Society, Pioneer Yearbook, Sisterhood Club, STEM Club, Student Council, Varsity Club, and the girls varsity soccer and lacrosse teams. She also plays for Lancaster FC Club Soccer and regularly attends her church youth group. An avid reader, Brianna was the English/Language Arts Burrowes Scholar in eighth grade, and also enjoys crafting and listening to music. She is planning to pursue studies and a career in marketing after graduation.
From Brianna's teachers: "Brianna Jackson is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates academic excellence and strong character. She is among the highest performers on assessments in both Sociology and Government, and the quality of her work frequently exceeds that of her peers. Brianna approaches every assignment with care and integrity, never cutting corners and always striving to do her best. She works confidently both independently and collaboratively, and her commitment extends beyond the classroom through her involvement in extracurricular activities. Brianna is truly deserving of recognition as the Pioneer Superlative this month.”
Jonah Cooper - Jonah is a freshman and the son of Robert and Jennifer Cooper of Willow Street. An excellent student, Jonah already has two Martin Meylin Middle School Student of the Month certificates under his belt. He likes to spend his free time playing games and cooking. He's unsure of his future plans, but would choose to pursue a culinary career if asked to decide today.
From Jonah's teachers: "Freshman Jonah Cooper is a deserving recipient of the Pioneer Superlative Award for January because he consistently exceeds expectations through his effort, attitude, and commitment to learning. Jonah approaches each class day with courtesy and respect, puts forth his best effort, and actively seeks understanding by asking thoughtful questions and working to master course concepts. He uses his time effectively, supports class procedures, and maintains a positive attitude toward his work. His persistence, motivation, and sense of humor not only contribute to his own growth but also help create an engaging and supportive classroom environment for others."
Portraits of a Pioneer
Carter Peters - Carter is a junior and the son of Chad and Heather Peters of Lampeter. He's active at LSHS as the Mini-THON treasurer, Ski & Snowboard Club treasurer, and a member of the boys varsity lacrosse team, to name a few. Carter has volunteered with Toys for Tots and enjoys playing lacrosse, an interest for which he received the Jim Fiora Class Act Award last spring. Carter also enjoys dabbling in the stock market and plans to pursue a career as a financial advisor or stockbroker in the future.
From Carter's teachers: "Carter Peters is deserving of the January Portrait of a Pioneer for his enthusiastic involvement in a wide range of clubs and activities. Since August, Carter has been an outgoing and dedicated Link Leader and was selected as the MVP Link Leader at the Ninth Grade Orientation. He serves as the treasurer for the Ski and Snowboard Club, where he consistently checks in, follows through, and reliably completes any task asked of him. He is always willing to step in and get the job done. Carter is also an active member of the Mini-THON Executive Committee, which is currently in full swing as the date for Mini-THON gets closer. Additionally, he is a member of the boys’ lacrosse team and takes his academic work and grades seriously. Carter truly exemplifies what it means to be an all-around Pioneer."
Konrad Poniatowski - Konrad is a junior and the son of Dariusz and Kelly Poniatowski of Lampeter. He's busy at LSHS as a lighting tech for the spring musical and a member of the esports Valorant team. Konrad spends time outside of school working as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA. He enjoys gaming, Airsoft, and skiing, and is interested in pursuing a career as a live event tech at Rock Lititz after graduation.
From Konrad's teachers: "Junior Konrad Poniatowski is a strong choice for the Portrait of a Pioneer Award for January because he consistently lives out the essential skills that define a Lampeter-Strasburg graduate. Konrad is intrinsically motivated and hard-working, putting forth his best effort every day while maintaining a positive attitude toward his learning. He communicates respectfully, asks questions when needed, and works diligently to master course concepts. Personable and collaborative, Konrad is always willing to help others and supports both his peers and classroom procedures. His effective use of time, strong work ethic, and resilience make him a positive role model and an example of what it means to be a true Pioneer."
