L-S Welcomes New Director of Technology
Meet Nathan Byler, L-S’s new Director of Technology! A former teacher with years of experience, he’s excited to bring fresh ideas and support for students and staff.

Lampeter-Strasburg School District is pleased to welcome Nathan Byler as the new Director of Technology. A former elementary teacher with nearly two decades of experience in educational technology, he brings both classroom insight and a forward-thinking approach to the district’s ever-changing tech landscape.
A native of Fredericksburg, PA, Byler earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Lebanon Valley College and began his career teaching fifth grade in New Jersey. There, he also ignited a lifelong interest in educational technology by teaching computer skills to elementary-age students. After moving back to Pennsylvania, he soon joined Northern Lebanon School District, where he helped launch a K–6 technology program and later took on the challenge of starting a virtual school from scratch.
After more than a decade at Northern Lebanon, Byler’s next stop was Annville-Cleona School District, where he served as Director of Technology for nine years before joining Lampeter-Strasburg.
“L-S is family-oriented, very warm and friendly,” said Byler, who officially joined the district on November 3, 2025. “I want to continue with the strong foundation that’s already in place and bring enhancements that reflect my perspective and experience in technology.”
As a former teacher, Byler approaches every decision through a classroom lens. “Being a teacher first shapes the way I think. I’m very teacher-centric in my decision-making and always consider different perspectives before moving forward,” he said.
Outside of work, Byler lives in Myerstown with his wife, Dorene, and their two children, both of whom are active in music and athletics. A lifelong percussionist and vocalist, he also enjoys cooking—serving as the family’s self-proclaimed chef.
“I just enjoy it,” he said. “I like to experiment and try new things—whether it’s food or technology.”
