As you may know, Martin Meylin Middle School is currently undergoing a comprehensive building renovation. Renovations began at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year and will run through at least the summer of 2026. We will communicate updates and information about the renovation on this page throughout the project.
Renovation Update: Change to morning drop-off (Posted 2.14.25)
Beginning Tuesday morning, February 18, 2025, the front parking lot at Martin Meylin will be closed to through traffic. This will have an obvious impact on our morning parent drop off procedures.
The following procedures will be effective beginning with morning drop off on February 18:
All morning drop off of Martin Meylin students will shift to the Hans Herr drop off loop outside of the Hans Herr gymnasium entrance. This loop is just to the north of Martin Meylin along Rosier Way.
When entering the loop, please wait until you reach the unloading zone (indicated by the green cars) before allowing your student(s) out of the car. Please pull as far up into the loading zone as possible. When possible, please try to have students exit curbside.
Once your student(s) has exited your vehicle, please do not proceed out of the loop until the vehicle in front of you is moving.
Students arriving prior to 7:20 am will exit their vehicles in the Hans Herr drop off loop and will then walk along the path toward the back of Martin Meylin. They will follow the sidewalk to the cafeteria bus loop doors to enter the building. The cafeteria doors will be open for entry beginning at 7:05am each day. Students may enter these doors between 7:05 and 7:20 am and will wait in the cafeteria for the bell to ring at 7:20 am. The Grand Hallway doors will no longer be open.
Students arriving after 7:20 am will exit their vehicles in the Hans Herr drop off loop and will proceed to the Main Entrance door at Martin Meylin. They will then proceed directly to homeroom or breakfast, as they do currently. The Main Entrance doors will be open from 7:20 to 7:30 am. Students arriving after 7:30 am will need to ring the doorbell to enter, sign in, and receive a tardy pass to homeroom.
Students should not be dropped off on Rosier Way or in the baseball parking lot at any time! Thank you for your help in creating a safe and efficient morning drop off.
Beginning on Tuesday, February 18, the front parking lot at Martin Meylin will be closed to traffic. All visitors to Martin Meylin will park in the Hans Herr drop off loop outside of the Hans Herr gymnasium entrance. The parking spaces at the end of the loop, closest to Martin Meylin, will be designated for Martin Meylin visitors. Handicapped parking spaces will also be located in this drop off loop.
Any visitors to Martin Meylin will need to use the Hans Herr drop off loop for parking.
Beginning with the return to school on Tuesday, January 21, you will notice the placement of bollards narrowing traffic to one lane along Rosier Way to allow construction vehicles to move two ways between the lower high school lot (across from the Martin Meylin gymnasium entrance) and the exit from the Martin Meylin front parking lot. Rosier Way will remain one way for campus traffic (from the stadium intersection up to the PAC parking lot at the high school) but will be limited to one lane as you approach the south end of Martin Meylin. Thank you for your attention to this shift in traffic pattern as you travel through campus
The lower parking lot outside the Martin Meylin Grand Hallway and between Martin Meylin and the High School is unavailable. This lot will be utilized for construction trailers and staging. Parents who used this lot for morning drop-off before 7:05 a.m. must use the drop-off loop in front of Martin Meylin.
The Hans Herr Elementary School front parking lot is closed to accommodate construction. The school’s visitor parking lot has moved to the small lot outside the lower gym entrance, and visitors must use the path leading to the front door to sign in at the school office. The bus loop remains open for student drop-off and pick-up between 9:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. on school days
The Martin Meylin Middle School office has moved for the 2024-2025 school year. It can be accessed from the front of the building at the door closest to Hans Herr Elementary School. Please look for the signs.
