District Programs

Dual Enrollment

The Lampeter-Strasburg School District is participating in Dual Enrollment Programs with a number of local colleges and universities. Past grant funding for Dual Enrollment Programs is no longer avaliable. Each student will be responsible for any cost associated with participation in Dual Enrollment programs. The District currently has agreements with Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), Lancaster Bible College, Millersville University, Penn State York/Lancaster, Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Eligibility Requirements

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) - 3.0 non-weighted GPA, combined SAT math and verbal score of 1100 or better, teacher or guidance counselor recommendation, principal approval
Lancaster Bible College - 3.0 non-weighted GPA, combined SAT math and verbal score of 1100 or better, guidance counselor approval
Millersville University - 3.0 non-weighted GPA, combined SAT math and verbal score of 1100 or better, teacher or guidance counselor recommendation, principal approval
Penn State York & Lancaster - 3.0 non-weighted GPA, combined SAT math and verbal score of 1100 or better, teacher or guidance counselor recommendation, principal approval
Pennsylvania College of Art and Design - 3.0 non-weighted GPA, teacher recommendation, principal approval
Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences - 3.0 non-weighted GPA, combined SAT math and verbal score of 1100 or better, principal approval
Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology- 3.0 non-weighted GPA, combined SAT math and verbal score of 1100 or better, teacher or guidance counselor recommendation, principal approval

Hybrid Learning

The Lampeter-Strasburg School District is currently implementing a rotational instructional model, known as Hybrid Learning Program, in several classrooms across the District. In addition to small group direct instruction, the Hybrid rotational model provides students with personalized learning opportunities and engage them in collaborative, self-directed learning activities designed to teach skills like critical thinking, problem solving, and digital citizenship. Teachers infuse technology into the learning process by collaborating to improve their understanding of learning strategies and instructing students at an individual level in order to meet personalized needs.

Standards-Based Report Cards (K-5)

The goal of the District's Elementary Standards-Based Report Card is to clearly and accurately communicate each student's level of achievement relative to standards-aligned District curricula and his/her application of grade-level learning skills. The standards clearly describe what students are expected to to know and be able to do at each grade level.

The elementary division reports student learning three times per school year. Trimesters provide students with the appropriate time to provide evidence of learning toward trimester benchmark goals. Learning for secondary students is reported on a quarterly basis.
