Six Inducted to L-S Athletic Hall of Fame
The LSHS Varsity Club is thrilled to announce that six outstanding former Pioneer athletes will be inducted into the Lampeter-Strasburg Athletic Hall of Fame this year.
The official induction ceremony will take place on Friday, September 25, at Lampeter-Strasburg High School. The inductees will also be recognized later that evening during halftime at the home football game. Please join us in congratulating these remarkable individuals on earning this well-deserved honor!
Meet the Inductees
Tim Tanner (Class of 1988) — Posthumous Induction
A multi-sport athlete in wrestling, track, and football, Tim Tanner made an impact on Pioneer Athletics, most notably on the wrestling mat. Tim was a dominant four-time Lancaster-Lebanon Sectional Champion and All-League selection from 1985 through 1988. Also a four-time District qualifier, Tim went on to represent L-S at the PIAA State Tournament in both 1987 and 1988, capping off his high school career with an impressive 4th-place state finish his senior year.
Nathaniel "Nate" Patterson (Class of 2016)
A two-year letter winner in soccer and four-year standout in lacrosse, Nate Patterson stands as one of the most decorated lacrosse players in program history. During his high school career, Nate was a 2016 US Lacrosse All-American, the 2016 LNP Lacrosse Player of the Year, a four-time All-League selection, and the record holder for career points in Pennsylvania lacrosse. Nate continued his career at Saint Joseph’s University on a four-year scholarship, earning Team Offensive MVP honors and a spot as the Northeast Conference Player of the Week in 2019. He has remained dedicated to the sport as a coach, including for LSHS lacrosse in 2024 and 2025.
1978 State Champion Girls AA 4x100m Relay Team: Beth Wenner (Class or 1979), Karen Evans (Class of 1980), Carol High (Class of 1981), Melanie Baciotti (Class of 1982)
Making history for the Pioneers, this four-athlete relay team put together one of the most historic track and field seasons in school history. After claiming a 3rd-place finish in the Lancaster-Lebanon League and a District 3 AA Championship title, the team achieved its ultimate goal: bringing home gold at the PIAA State Championships. Their state-winning time of 49.53 seconds set a school record that still stands today, and it also brought the L-S track program its first State title since the District was formed in 1953.
About the L-S Athletic Hall of Fame
Established in the fall of 1991, the Lampeter-Strasburg Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes athletes, coaches, and community members who have achieved high athletic excellence or delivered outstanding service to the District's athletic program.
