High School Names March 2026 Students of the Month

Congratulations to Pioneer Superlatives Rylee Diller and Savanna Minnich and Portrait of a Pioneer awardees Sean Lutz and Chase Trunfio!

Lampeter-Strasburg High School teachers applauded three seniors and a sophomore for their contributions to the school community through excellent academics, commendable work ethic, and positive attitudes. Congratulations to our March 2026 Students of the Month!
Pioneer Superlatives
Rylee Diller (Senior)
Rylee Diller is the daughter of Derek Diller and Jill Rodger of Willow Street. The LSHS Science Department nominated Rylee for exemplifying what it means to be a dedicated scholar and a compassionate member of the school community. Her teachers admire her tireless work ethic, contagious positivity, and genuine character. A distinguished honor roll student, Rylee serves as the National Honor Society co-president and the Fellowship of Christian Students secretary. She is also a Link Crew Leader, High School Hero, and an active member of the National Art Honor Society, Scrubs Club, STEM Club, and the varsity cross country and track teams. Outside of school, Rylee is a YoungLife student leader, an assistant church teacher, and an employee at Pine View Dairy. She plans to pursue a career as a medical doctor, with a potential specialty in pediatrics.
Savanna Minnich (Senior)
Savanna Minnich is the daughter of Dave and Kristen Minnich of Strasburg. Teachers selected Savanna as a powerful example of how determination and a growth mindset lead to success. She is noted for treating every assignment as a vital stepping stone toward her professional goals. An accomplished artist who enjoys painting and drawing, Savanna’s work was recognized in this year’s Lancaster County Young Artists (LCYA) show. She has also completed two work studies in art classrooms this year. Savanna plans to attend Millersville University this fall to study early childhood education in pursuit of a career as an elementary art teacher.

Sean Lutz (Senior)
Sean Lutz is the son of Gary and Brenda Lutz of Strasburg. Sean was chosen for his full engagement in the learning process and his willingness to tackle difficult concepts with a positive attitude. In addition to his academic success, Sean is a member of the Model UN and Environmental Clubs at LSHS. He also works within the community to provide assistance to the homeless. In his free time, Sean enjoys hiking, cooking, and throwing discus. He plans to pursue a career in paleontology.
Chase Trunfio (Sophomore)
Chase Trunfio is the son of James and Arlie Trunfio of Lampeter. Nominated as a “true superstar” and a model L-S Pioneer, Chase is recognized as a responsible, collaborative, and creative student who brings a fresh perspective to the school. His extracurricular involvements include the Lego Club and the Pioneer Interact Club. Outside of school, Chase enjoys learning about American history, law enforcement, and animals. Next year, he plans to attend the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center for the Intro to Health Careers program, with long-term goals of joining the military or law enforcement.
Board Recognition

The March Students of the Month received public recognition at the April 20 meeting of the L-S Board of School Directors, along with February's Students of the Month. Board member Mr. Dean McComsey presented their certificates.
