Seniors Named Commended Students in National Merit Scholarship Program

Seniors Kathryn Berry, Grace Burdge, Krista Lambert, and Braden Weese were among the top 50,000 scorers nationwide in the 2021 PSAT/NMSQT test.

Lampeter-Strasburg High School principal, Dr. Ben Feeney, announced today that four seniors are Commended Students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. Letters of commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, have been presented to these scholastically talented students. 

 

2023 NMSC Commended Students

 

  • Kathryn Berry - Kathryn is the daughter of Matthew and Jackie Berry of Lancaster. She plans to pursue post-secondary education in environmental engineering. 
  • Grace Burdge - Grace is the daughter of David and Jill Burdge of Willow Street. She is plans to pursue post-secondary education in applied or theoretical mathematics.
  • Krista Lambert - Krista is the daughter of Charles Lambert and Annette Auchter of Lancaster. She plans to pursue post-secondary education in political science and education.
  • Braden Weese - Braden is the son of Christopher and Lauren Weese of Lancaster. He plans to pursue post-secondary education in political science and pre-law.

 

The four L-S seniors are among 34,000 Commended Students throughout the United States. Although they will not continue in the 2023 competition for exceptional academic promise, Commended Students are among the top 50,000 of more than two million students who entered the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
