Rhinier to Sing in All-Eastern Treble Choir
Congratulations to senior Ellie Rhinier, who has earned a spot in the 12-state All-Eastern Treble Choir
We are thrilled to announce that the senior Elizabeth (Ellie) Rhinier will be a member of the Treble Choir at the 2025 NAfME Eastern Division Conference, or All-East. She successfully auditioned in October for a spot in the prestigious choir of the best and brightest high school music students from 12 states. Ellie will travel to Hartford, CT, in April for the conference, where she will sing alongside 31 fellow Alto 2s in the 128-member choir. She is the first L-S student to make All-East since 2007.
"It is such an honor to be selected for the All-Eastern Treble Choir," said Ellie. "It feels amazing to reach a goal that I've been working towards since my sophomore year, and I'm so excited to sing with such talented people!"
Ellie has been a music phenom in high school. She advanced to state chorus and district modern band as a junior and to regional chorus as a sophomore. At school, she sings in the concert choir, Madrigals, and spring musical casts; audiences can soon see her as Rosie in the LSHS production of Mama Mia. She also sang and played the keyboard in the marching band and plays the tuba in the concert band and orchestra.
"I am so proud of Ellie!" said Mr. Erik Welchans, Ellie's choral director and modern band teacher who will accompany her to the All-Eastern Conference. "She is a conscientious student who is always striving to improve. She has a beautifully rich, vibrant voice and yet so humble. I am really excited about this opportunity for her!"
