National Honor Society Inducts New Members for 2024-2025
Congratulations to the 40 new members of the LSHS National Honor Society!
The 2024-2025 Lampeter-Strasburg High School National Honor Society
The Lampeter-Strasburg High School National Honor Society (NHS) added 40 new members at an induction ceremony on Thursday, November 21, bringing its 2024-2025 membership to 85 distinguished LSHS students.
Teachers select NHS members based on knowledge, scholarship, service, leadership, and character. To be considered for NHS, students must apply and be vetted with criteria including cumulative grade point average and participation in extracurricular activities.
This year's guest speaker was LSHS science teacher Mrs. Tina Shockey. NHS members and guests also heard from LSHS assistant principal Mrs. Melissa Swarr, NHS advisor Mr. Jeffrey Marsh, and the 2024-2025 NHS officers: co-presidents Annaliese Sauve and Brynn Young, historian Alaina Brenneman, treasurer Preston Schonour, secretary Carson Zook, and members Emma Williams, Eliana Donaldson, Madelyn Lowe, and Laela Gipe. Each inductee was then pinned by their chosen honored guest (parent, relative, teacher, coach, etc.), signifying their commitment to upholding the values of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Congratulations to all!
