Two men, press box, smiling, thumbs up

Lampeter-Strasburg High School faculty and staff selected Matthew Shockey as the Teacher of the Quarter for the third marking period of the 2021-2022 school year. Mr. Shockey is a fixture in the social studies department and delights students as an emcee at pep rallies, Mini-THON, and other school events. He also serves as a co-president of the Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association.

“I am all in at L-S,” says Shockey. “I teach here. My wife teaches here and all three of my children have gone to school here.”

Shockey grew up in Waynesboro PA, and attended Bloomsburg University and Millersville University before joining the Lampeter-Strasburg High School faculty in 1994. He currently teaches American Cultures and HACC History of the United States, a year-long college-level history class.

Thanks for being all in, Mr. Shockey, and congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
