2022-2023 County and District Band
Senior Maya Carl earned a spot at the PMEA District 7 Band Festival, and nearly two dozen students will perform at the LLMEA High School and Middle School County Band Festival in February. Mr. Royer will guest-conduct the middle school band.
Lampeter-Strasburg School District is home to a strong music department, and the band program is no exception. This year, nearly two dozen middle and high school band members will perform at the county level, one student will make her second appearance at the eight-county district band festival, and the band director will guest conduct the county middle school concert.
Senior Maya Carl has advanced to the district level in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) program for the second year in a row. She will play alongside other standouts at the District 7 South Band Festival from February 9-11 at Warwick High School. The festival will conclude with a public performance on Saturday, February 11, with a time and ticket prices to be announced.
Twenty-three student musicians were chosen to participate in this year’s Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators Association (LLMEA) High School and Middle School County Band South Festival. The event is Saturday, February 4, at Hempfield High School, and Lampeter-Strasburg’s middle and high school band director, Mr. Larry Royer, is the guest conductor for the middle school band. The festival will conclude with a public performance at 4 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door, cash only.
