High School Names February 2024 Students of the Month

Lampeter-Strasburg High School teachers selected two seniors and two freshmen to be recognized for their achievements. Congratulations to the February 2024 Students of the Month!

 

Pioneer Superlatives

 

Natalie Holland - Natalie is a senior and the daughter of Trevor Holland and Michelle Brubaker of Lancaster. Natalie was nominated by the Health and PE department as she consistently delivers top-notch work inside and outside of the classroom and shines brightly as a high school standout. She participates in countless activities within the school including Track and Field, Volleyball, Student Council, Scrubs Club, Link Crew, Mini-THON, and she is also the National Honor Society Secretary. Outside of school, she enjoys spending her time babysitting. Natalie plans to attend Kutztown University to pursue Bio Pre-Med where she will also be a part of the Track and Field team.

 

Jacob McClune - Jacob is a senior and the son of Steve and Cheryl McClune of Lancaster. Jacob was nominated by the Social Studies department for showing academic rigor through a difficult course load in which he excels, as well as showing leadership in the club activities in which he is involved. Within the school, he participates in Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Track and Field, STEM Club, National Honor Society, Ski and Snowboard, Tutoring, and Inter-Club Council. Outside of school, he participates in Boy Scouts of America, Taekwondo, and Community Service. Additionally, he enjoys anything outdoors, skiing, running, reading, anything science-related, and hanging out with family and friends. He has been recognized with countless awards and honors such as the Eagle Scout rank, Horseshoe Silver Buckle Award, Burrowes Scholar for Science, and a black belt in Taekwondo. Jacob is currently seeking an appointment from the Air Force Academy where he is looking to major in mechanical engineering.

 

Students of the Month

 

Katerina Zeager - Katerina is a freshman and the daughter of Catherine Zeager and Eric Zeager of Lancaster. Katerina was nominated by the Math department because her positive and optimistic attitude creates a willingness to create great work and help classmates. Within the school, she is a member of the lacrosse team and the orchestra where she plays violin. Outside of school, she enjoys shopping, sports, and the outdoors. Katerina hopes to one day be a physician’s assistant after high school.

 

Denzel Johnson - Denzel is a freshman and the son of Andrea Brown and De’Angelo Hatton of Lancaster. Denzel was nominated by multiple departments as he is a kind-hearted individual who has shown great academic, social, and emotional growth throughout the year. He is a member of the football team and outside of school participates in Community Clean-up. In his free time, Denzel enjoys spending time painting, reading, and cooking. In the future, he aspires to be an architect.
