High School Art Department Launches National Art Honor Society
Congratulations to our district's first National Art Honor Society inductees!
Artists in Residence: LSHS 2024-2025 National Art Honor Society members at induction
On Thursday, December 12, the Lampeter-Strasburg High School art department inducted its first group of National Art Honor Society (NAHS) students. Mrs. Meg Lau and Mr. Scott Cantrell proudly instated senior Gianna Fasano as the group's president, senior Emma Dice as vice president, and 21 dedicated art students as charter members. Mr. Fred Rodger - a working artist, Red Raven Art Company owner, and former LSHS art teacher - was back in his old classroom as the event's guest speaker.
To be considered for NAHS, students must have successfully completed at least two art classes and must maintain a respectable overall GPA. Applicants also submitted arts-themed essays highlighting the four pillars of National Honor Society: knowledge, scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
"We are so excited about NAHS, but really, it's student-led," said Mr. Cantrell. This is a talented group of students who want to give back."
Congratulations to our inaugural group of NAHS inductees!
