Congratulations to the members of the Class of 2022 who received 85 scholarships and awards at the annual LSHS Senior Awards Night on May 19th.

Lampeter-Strasburg High School 2022 Senior Awards  May 19, 2022

 

Members of the Class of 2022 received 85 awards at the annual Senior Awards Night. The event took place Thursday, May 19, in the L-S High School Performing Arts Center. Of the awards, 11 had two recipients and two had three recipients. The Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation (LSEF) presented several awards while others came from local businesses and community benefactors. Three students also received low-interest loans from LSEF.

Mariah Beiler (3) - Mariah is the winner of the Juliet Benson Memorial Scholarship, the Strasburg Area Women’s Club Geraldine Rapp Educational Scholarship, and the Strasburg V.F.W. Foreign Language Award for Spanish.  She plans to take a gap year in Costa Rica to study Ministry and Spanish.

Kyra Benner - Kyra is the winner of the Strasburg Lions Club Award for Agriculture. She plans to attend Delaware Valley University to study Small Animal Science.

Joel Bitler (2) - Joel is the winner of a BB&T (Now Truist) Economic Growth STEM/STEAM Scholarship and the Ian H. Holmberg Scholarship. He plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to study Architecture

Sidney Brinkman - Sidney is a winner of the Frank A. Wint Scholarship and the Strasburg I.O.O.F. Scholarship for Science. She plans to attend Hood College to study Environmental Science and Policy.

Gabrielle Burdge (2) - Gabrielle is the winner of the Henry and Mary Wentz Scholarship in Honor of Dr. Melvin E. Rosier and a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Gene Snyder Memorial Scholarship. She plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study Physics. 

Andrew Buscay - Andrew is the winner of the Strasburg Lions Club Award for Business. He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study Economics.

Gabrielle Chapman - Gabrielle is the winner of the Abraham Lincoln Award. Gabrielle plans to attend Harrisburg Community College and is undecided about her major.

Austin Cole - Austin is the winner of the Willoughby & Associates Future Leader Award. He plans to attend Bloomsburg University to study Exercise Science.

Melanie Cox - Melanie is the winner of the Grimm Agriculture Award. She plans to attend Delaware Valley University to study Equine Science

Jenna Daveler - Jenna is a winner of a Gene Snyder Athletic Award and a Lampeter-Strasburg Youth Soccer Award. She plans to attend Old Dominion University to study Sports Medicine.

Jack Filius - Jack is the winner of the Strasburg Lions Club Award for Accounting. Jack plans to attend Lehigh University to study Business.

Emaly Garrett - Emaly is a winner of a Gene Snyder Memorial Award. She plans to attend Eastern Michigan University to study Arts & Entertainment Management

Hannah Gawne - Hannah is a winner of a Hall of Fame Award. She plans to attend Messiah University to study Finance.

Ava Grandizio - Ava is a winner of the Frank A. Wint Scholarship. She plans to attend West Chester University to study Biochemistry.

Jack Harnish - Jack is the winner of the Creative Arts Award. Jack plans to attend West Chester University to study Music Education.

Tonna Harnish - Tonna is the winner of the Forever A Pioneer: Dr. Robert A. Frick Scholarship. Tonna plans to attend West Chester University and is undecided about her major.

Michael Hayes - Michael is the winner of the J. Aldus Herr Memorial Scholarship. He plans to attend Penn State University to study Biomedical Engineering.

Ryker Holsinger (2) - Ryker is the winner of the Justin Barr Memorial Scholarship and the recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Loan. He plans to attend Dartmouth College to study Biology.

Ella Horst (2) - Ella is the winner of a Lampeter-Strasburg Area Republican Committee Scholarship and a Ryan “Whitey” Weitzel Award. She plans to attend Eastern University to study Nursing.

Aubry Horner (2) - Aubry is the winner of the J.L.R. Perseverance Award and a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association Scholarship. She plans to attend West Chester University to study Early Grades Preparation/K-12 Special Education. 

Ermine Jacques - Ermine is the winner of the Lampeter-Strasburg PTO Scholarship. She plans to attend Howard University to study Criminology. 

Faith Keene - Faith is the winner of the Hospitality Award. She plans to enter the workforce after graduation. 

Savannah Keenen - Savannah is the winner of a Strasburg Ambulance Community Fund Award. She plans to attend the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences to study Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Morgan Lapp (2) - Morgan is a winner of a Strasburg Ambulance Community Fund Award and a Willow Street Lions Club Health or Community Service Scholarship. She plans to attend Penn State University to study Communications Sciences and Disorders.

Mitchell Livengood - Mitchell is a winner of a Lampeter-Strasburg Area Republican Committee Scholarship. He plans to attend Duquesne University to study Biomedical Engineering.

Derick May (3) - Derick is the winner of the Richard F. Lefever Memorial Award, a Ryan “Whitey” Weitzel Award, and an S. Dale High Scholarship. He plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to study Architecture.

Cassie Meck (5) - Cassie is the winner of the Lampeter-Strasburg Administrators’ Scholarship, the Matthew R. Conrad Memorial Scholarship, the Ryan N. Smith Memorial Scholarship, the Strasburg V.F.W. Service to Mankind Award, the Vocal Music Award, and the Outstanding Senior Award. She plans to attend the Sight & Sound Conservatory to study Musical Theatre.

Victoria Meredith (3) - Victoria is the winner of the Ainsleigh Kaye Motta Memorial Scholarship, The David B. and Kathryn M. Kraybill Scholarship, and the Rick Gieniec Memorial Award. Victoria plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study Biochemistry and Pre-Med.

Keiva Middleton - Keiva is the winner of a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Loan. She plans to attend Lock Haven University to study Sports Management.

Hollyn Miller (2) - Hollyn is the winner of the G.R. Mitchell Community Service Award and the Ray Zeigler Memorial Scholarship Award. She plans to attend Eastern Mennonite University to study Psychology and Art.

Jackson Miller - Jackson is the winner of the Strasburg V.F.W. Technology Education Award. He plans to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology to study Computer Engineering. 

Cheyenne Oberdorf - Cheyenne is the winner of the Strasburg Women’s Club Mom Strubel Award. She plans to attend Eastern University to study Biology. 

Isaiah Parido (2) - Isaiah is a winner of a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association Scholarship, and the Todd Garber Baseball Award. He plans to attend Messiah University to study Physical Education. 

Sabrina Phillips (2) - Sabrina is the winner of the Millersville Auxiliary VFW Post 7294 Medical/Nursing Scholarship Award and a Willow Street Lions Club Health or Community Service Scholarship. She plans to attend the University of South Florida to study Nursing.

Jackson Price (4) - Jackson is the winner of the Lampeter-Strasburg Agriculture Department Excellency Award, an S. Dale High Scholarship, the West Lampeter Fair Scholarship, and the Zimmerman’s Hardware Award. He plans to attend Delaware Valley University to study Agriculture Business.

Jake Reichert - Jake is the winner of the Strasburg I.O.O.F. Scholarship for English. He plans to attend University of Alabama to study Sports News Media.

Andrew Reidenbaugh - Andrew is a winner of a Hall of Fame Award. He plans to attend the University of Tampa to study Psychology.

Nathan Romero (2) - Nathan is the winner of the Meredith Leigh Demko Diversity Scholarship and the Richard F. Lefever Memorial Fund - Social Studies Award. He plans to attend Penn State University to study Biology. 

Chad Royer (3) - Chad is the winner of the R.H. Holmberg Memorial Scholarship, The Rotary Club of Lancaster South Ralph W. “Buzz” Coho Scholarship, and the Strasburg Elementary PTO Scholarship. He plans to attend Eastern University to study Data Science. 

Brooke Smith (2) - Brooke is the winner of the Elizabeth S. Henry Scholarship and a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association Scholarship . She plans to attend West Chester University to study Elementary Education. 

Bennett Stoltzfus - Bennett is the winner of the Strasburg V.F.W. Foreign Language Award for Mandarin Chinese. He plans to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point to study Cybersecurity.

Logan Thompson - Logan is the winner of the Rae Ann Henry Memorial Scholarship. He plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to study HVAC and Refrigeration Technology.

Alexa Turner - Alexa is the winner of the Strasburg Police Law Enforcement Scholarship. She plans to enter the workforce after graduation. 

Anne Visniski (2) - Anne is the winner of the Strasburg Borough Service Award and the Strasburg I.O.O.F. Scholarship for Mathematics. She plans to attend Florida State University to study Applied and Computational Mathematics.

Luka Vranich - Luka is a winner of a Gene Snyder Athletic Award. He plans to attend James Madison University to study Sports & Recreation Management.

Berkeley Wagner - Berkeley is a winner of a Gene Snyder Athletic Award. He plans to attend Susquehanna University to study Business. 

Luke Wilson - Luke is the winner of a Lampeter-Strasburg Youth Soccer Association Award. He plans to attend Penn State University and is undecided about his major. 

Molly Wissler (2) - Molly is the winner of the Janice Seldomridge Memorial Award and a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Gene Snyder Memorial Scholarship. She plans to attend Villanova University to study Business.

Riley Wissler - Riley is the winner of the Denise M. Patches Memorial Scholarship. He plans to attend Dartmouth College to study Biochemistry.

Owen Witmer - Owen is a winner of a Gene Snyder Memorial Award. He plans to attend Montana State University to study Architecture

Cole Younger - Cole is a winner of the BB&T (Now Truist) Economic Growth STEM/STEAM Scholarship. Cole plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to study Electro-Mechanical Technology. 

Nicole Zehr - Nicole is the winner of the Strasburg V.F.W. Foreign Language Award for German. She plans to enter the workforce after graduation. 

Natalie Zook (2) - Natalie is the winner of the Strasburg I.O.O.F. Scholarship for Social Studies and a  Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Loan. She plans to attend Grove City College to study Psychology.
