2025 Senior Awards

2025 Senior Award Winners

Fifty-eight members of the Class of 2025 received 90 awards at Senior Awards Night on Thursday, May 15. Awards from local businesses, organizations, and individuals totaled nearly $139,000 this year. The total includes awards for valedictorian, salutatorian, and third in class that will be announced at commencement on Friday, May 30, and four low-interest loans from the Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation.

2025 Senior Awards

James Appelgrijn - James is the recipient of a Frank A. Wint Scholarship, the Henry & Mary Wentz Scholarship in Honor of Dr. Melvin Rosier, an Outstanding Music Award, the Strasburg I.O.O.F Lodge 361 English Scholarship, and the Outstanding Senior Award (chosen by the senior class). James plans to attend Penn State University to study English.

Devin Aponte - Devin is the recipient of the Todd Garber L-S Baseball Award. He plans to attend Messiah University to study mathematics education. 

Liliana Bacon - Liliana is the recipient of the Ethel M. Speros Memorial Award and the G.R. Mitchell Community Service Award. She plans to attend Eastern University to study nursing.

Alaina Breneman - Alaina is the recipient of the L-S Administrators Scholarship. She plans to attend Millersville University to study mathematics education.

Alice Buffington - Alice is the recipient of the Ray Ziegler Memorial Scholarship Award. She plans to attend the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design to study illustration.

Daniel Burkhart - Daniel is the recipient of the Richard F. Lefever Memorial Award. He plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

Kirah Carter - Kirah is the recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Youth Soccer Award and a Ryan N. Smith Memorial Scholarship. She plans to attend Liberty University to study professional and creative design.

Kaitlin Churchill - Kaitlin is the recipient of the J. Aldus Herr Memorial Scholarship. She plans to attend Loyola University Maryland to study biology.

Aven Cunningham - Aven is the recipient of the Elizabeth S. Henry Scholarship and an L-S Education Association Scholarship. He plans to attend Bloomsburg University to study childhood education.

Emma Dice - Emma is the recipient of the Meredith Leigh Demko Diversity Scholarship. She plans to attend Millersville University to study art education.

Van Dietrich - Van is the recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Youth Soccer Award. He plans to attend Temple University to study business. 

Emory Fluhr - Emory is the recipient of the Zimmerman’s Hardware Award. He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study engineering. 

Sarah Firestone - Sarah is the recipient of a Gene Snyder Memorial Award, the L-S Agriculture Department Excellency Award, a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association Scholarship, a Pequea Valley Sportsman Association Scholarship, a Strasburg Elementary PTO Award, and a West Lampeter Fair Scholarship. Sarah plans to attend Penn State University to study agriculture and extension education, as well as political science.

Gabrielle Graver - Gabrielle is the recipient of the Strasburg Borough Service Award. She plans to attend Coastal Carolina University to study sports management. 

Liam Grubb - Liam is the recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association Scholarship. He plans to attend Alvernia University to study mechanical engineering. 

Laela Gipe - Laela is the recipient of the Dr. Steven K. Groff Memorial Scholarship, a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Loan, and the Millersville Auxiliary VFW Post 7294 Medical/Nursing Scholarship Award. She plans to attend Auburn University to study nursing.

Heron Gaudet - Heron is the recipient of the David B. and Kathyrn M. Kraybill Scholarship. She plans to attend Widener University to study biochemistry.

Jaydon Groff - Jaydon is the recipient of the James W. & Janice G. Frey Scholarship in Honor of Keith Y. Frey. Jaydon plans to attend the Automotive Training Center to study automotive and hi-performance technology.

Mason Heiserman - Mason is the recipient of the Democratic Party of Willow Valley Thaddeus Stevens Scholarship, the Garrett Graby Memorial Scholarship, and the JK Mechanical Scholarship. He plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to study electrical technology.

Kyleigh Herr - Kyleigh is the recipient of the Strasburg Police Law Enforcement Award. She plans to attend Temple University to study criminal justice. 

Anna Horner - Anna is the recipient of a Hall of Fame Award and the Rick Gieniec Memorial Award. She plans to attend Penn State Harrisburg to study marketing.

Truman Horst - Truman is the recipient of the Democratic Party of Willow Valley Community Involvement Scholarship, a Lampeter-Strasburg Area Republican Committee Scholarship, an Outstanding Music Award, the Pete Kingsley Memorial Scholarship, the Rotary Club of Lancaster South Ralph W. “Buzz” Coho Scholarship, the Scott J. Kimmel Memorial Scholarship, and the Strasburg I.O.O.F Lodge 361 Mathematics Scholarship. He plans to attend Messiah University to study data science.  

Caileb Howse - Caileb is the recipient of a Gene Snyder Athletic Award and a Ryan N. Smith Memorial Scholarship. He plans to attend Millersville University to study marketing. 

Ava Immel - Ava is the recipient of the Grimm Agriculture Award, the Tobias Leaman Award, and a West Lampeter Fair Scholarship. She plans to attend Delaware Valley University to study animal science.

Jeremiah Kennel - Jeremiah is the recipient of a Strasburg Ambulance Community Fund Award and the Willow Street Lions Club Health or Community Service Scholarship. He plans to attend Swarthmore College to study biology.

Joseph King - Joseph is the recipient of the Live for Today Lacrosse Scholarship. He plans to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University to study mathematics education.

Connor Kouterick - Connor is the recipient of a Hall of Fame Award. He plans to attend West Virginia University to study supply chain management.

Jacqueline Kunitsky - Jacqueline is the recipient of the Creative Arts Award. She plans to attend Temple University to study illustration.

Michael Lau - Michael is the recipient of a Gene Snyder Memorial Award. He plans to attend Dickinson College to study psychology. 

Leniel Lozada Betancourt - Leniel is the recipient of the Abraham Lincoln Award and a Ryan “Whitey” Weitzel Award. He plans to attend Millersville University to study applied engineering, drafting, and design.

Alexander Lukacs - Alexander is a recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Area Republican Committee Scholarship. He plans to attend Millersville University to study early childhood education. 

Ian Lyons - Ian is the recipient of a Pequea Valley Sportsman Association Scholarship. He plans to attend the University of North Georgia to study marketing.

Olivia Magagna - Olivia is the recipient of a Gene Snyder Athletic Award. She plans to attend Bloomsburg University to study sports nutrition.

Rachael Mann - Rachael is the recipient of an S. Dale High Scholarship. She plans to attend Penn State University and is undecided about her major.

Bailey Melendez - Bailey is the recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Area Republican Committee Scholarship and the Lampeter-Strasburg Area Women’s Club Geraldine Rapp Educational Scholarship. She plans to attend Salisbury University to study early childhood education.

Ari Moore - Ari is the recipient of the Carroll J. Staub Education Scholarship and the Richard F. Lefever Social Studies Award. He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study education.

Lila Murdock - Lila is the recipient of the Janice Seldomridge Memorial Award. She plans to attend Millersville University to study business administration.

Molly Nauman - Molly is the recipient of the Ainsleigh Kaye Motta Memorial Scholarship and a Ryan “Whitey” Weitzel Award. She plans to attend Penn State University and is undecided about her major.

William Neumyer - William is the recipient of the Forever a Pioneer: Dr. Robert A. Frick Scholarship. He plans to attend West Chester University to study mathematics education.

Jayden Pizarro - Jayden is the recipient of the Willow Valley Associates Hospitality Scholarship. He plans to attend Walnut Hill College to study culinary arts.

Anna Reed - Anna is the recipient of a Strasburg Elementary PTO Award. She plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study psychology. 

Elizabeth Rhinier - Ellie is the recipient of the Matthew R. Conrad Memorial Scholarship, an Outstanding Music Award, and the Vocal Music Award. She plans to attend West Chester University to study music education.

Drea Rice - Drea is the recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Loan and an S. Dale High Scholarship. She plans to attend Penn State University to study materials science and engineering.

Matthew Rota - Matthew is the recipient of the R.H. Holmberg Memorial Scholarship. He plans to attend Juniata College to study mathematics education. 

Alexander Ruhl - Alexander is the recipient of an Outstanding Music Award. He plans to attend West Chester University to study music education.

Olivia Salaki - Olivia is the recipient of a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association Scholarship and the Sara Ann (Buckwalter) Bauer ‘59 Scholarship. She plans to attend West Chester University to study early childhood education.

Annaliese Sauve - Annaliese is the recipient of the Justin Barr Memorial Scholarship, a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Loan, and the Strasburg I.O.O.F Lodge 361 Social Studies Scholarship. She plans to attend Duquesne University to study political science and psychology (pre-law).

C. Preston Schonour - Preston is the recipient of the Lampeter-Strasburg Area Women’s Club Mom Strubel Scholarship Award. He plans to attend the College of William and Mary and is undecided about his major.

Keira Smecker - Keira is the recipient of a Strasburg Ambulance Community Fund Award. She plans to attend the University of New Hampshire to study nursing.

Leanne Smith - Leanne is the recipient of a Strasburg Elementary PTO Award. She plans to attend Millersville University to study sports administration.

Jai Steberger - Jai is the recipient of the Ian H. Holmberg Scholarship. He is undecided about his future plans.

Ashton Steele - Ashton is the recipient of the Rae Ann Henry Memorial Scholarship. He plans to enter the workforce after graduation. 

Gavin Tipping - Gavin is the recipient of a Gene Snyder Memorial Award. He plans to attend Penn State University to study finance.

Daniel Weichler - Daniel is the recipient of the Willoughby & Associates Future Leader Award. He plans to attend Temple University to study mechanical engineering.

Mackenzie Westerlund - Mackenzie is the recipient of the L-S PTO Scholarship. She plans to attend West Chester University to study nursing.  

Clara Wilson - Clara is the recipient of a Southern Lancaster County Chamber Business Scholarship. She plans to attend the Pennsylvania College of Technology to study culinary arts.

Kyle Yang - Kyle is the recipient of a Southern Lancaster County Chamber Business Scholarship. He plans to attend Penn State Harrisburg to study accounting.

Brynn Young - Brynn is the recipient of a Gene Snyder Memorial Award and the Strasburg I.O.O.F Lodge 361 Science Scholarship. She plans to attend Northeastern University to study bioengineering.

Carson Zook - Carson is the recipient of a Frank A. Wint Scholarship, a Lampeter-Strasburg Education Foundation Loan, and an Outstanding Music Award. He plans to attend Grove City College to study mechanical engineering.
