The Hans Herr Elementary School Fifth-Grade Band has been invited by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) to perform at the group’s upcoming All-State Conference. The band will travel to the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos to perform at the conference, which runs from April 19-22, 2023. PMEA provides professional development for music educators as well as numerous performance opportunities, educational experiences, and scholarships for student musicians.

“This is a huge honor,” said director Heather Ceresini, who led Hans Herr’s band program since 2014. “It’s the equivalent of winning an all-state football championship for an elementary band.”

Mrs. Ceresini submitted a recording of the band’s performance for consideration from PMEA and was delighted to learn that the band has been chosen for this opportunity. All fifth-grade band students have been invited to attend the conference.

A send-off concert for family and friends is planned for earlier in April. Details will be announced as they are received.

Congratulations to Mrs. Ceresini and the Hans Herr fifth-grade band for putting in the time and work necessary to receive this honor!
