Pioneer Strong Chicken BBQ and Pioneer Pride Classic Scheduled for August 22
On August 22, the L-S Athletic Department and LSHS Varsity Club are kicking off the new school year with the Pioneer Strong Chicken BBQ and the Pioneer Pride Classic.
Pioneer Strong Chicken BBQ, 5-7 p.m. at the L-S Track
The Varsity Club will host a chicken BBQ to support Lampeter-Strasburg students, staff, and community members during emergencies or times of need.. Dinners are $14 (half chicken, roll, applesauce, corn, drink, and dessert) and half chickens are $8. Meals can be pre-ordered or purchased onsite while supplies last. Pre-orders will be accepted through noon on August 22. Limited-edition Pioneer Strong t-shirts also are available at the pre-order link for $15.

Pioneer Pride Classic, 7 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium
The L-S Athletic Department “theme” for the 2024-25 school year is “Pioneers, All Day, Every Day.” We strive daily to represent the characteristics of a PIONEER: Pride, Integrity, Optimism, Noble, Empathetic, Eager, Resilient. This theme is also in admiration of Mrs. Jen McCrabb, who will be retiring at the end of the 2024-25 school year after 34 years as an L-S Athletic Trainer. Mrs. McCrabb embodies what it means to be a PIONEER, and we look forward to thanking her publicly at our Pioneer Pride event on Thursday, August 22nd at 7:00 pm at Pioneer Stadium*. The Pioneer Pride Classic will also feature a recap of the 2023-2024 year, introductions of the 2024-2025 teams, and performances by the marching band and cheerleaders.
*All former athletes, coaches, students, teachers, or anyone who has appreciated all that Jen has provided L-S will be invited onto the field at the end of the event for a group photo.
