On Friday, September 20, former Lampeter-Strasburg coaches John Manion and Gene Charles will be inducted into the district’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Coach Manion led the football team for 23 seasons as head coach, helping to secure three District III titles and reaching the PIAA state semifinals twice during that time. He has been recognized as the LL Section 2 Coach of the Year and the District III Coach of the Year.

Coach Charles spent 22 years coaching the softball team, including five years as head coach. During that period, the team won two PIAA state titles and one District III title, and were runners-up in both State and District tournaments. Coach Charles has also been named Pennsylvania’s NFHS Coach of the Year.

Both coaches will be honored on Pioneer Field at halftime during Friday’s Hall of Fame football game. Kickoff is at 7pm. Please join us in celebrating these distinguished Pioneers!
