High School Names March 2020 Students of the Month

Lampeter-Strasburg High School teachers have honored four seniors as March 2020 Students of the Month.

Pioneer Superlatives

March 2020 PS0Campbell web Alexis Campbell

Alexis Campbell

Alexis is a senior and the daughter of Rob and Nancy Campbell of Lancaster. She is a member of the L-S High School National Honor Society, Asian Cultures Club, Pioneer Interact Club, Ski & Snowboard Club, orchestra, High School Heroes program, and the cross country and track & field teams. Alexis is a member of the distinguished honor roll and was named a scholar-athlete for cross country. Outside of school, Alexis teaches second and third grade Sunday School at First United Methodist Church and enjoys hiking, running, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She plans to attend Emory University to study chemistry and neuroscience on a pre-med track.

Daniel McMichael

Daniel is a senior and the son of Dale McMichael and Tia Rojas of Lancaster. He is a member of the L-S High National Honor Society, Model UN, and the cross country, indoor track, and track & field teams. Daniel honors include selection as a Section 2 First Team All-Star, scholar-athlete, National Hispanic Scholar, and a Hispanic Scholarship Fund finalist. Outside of school, Daniel works washing coach buses and enjoys running and playing video games. He plans to attend the College of William and Mary to study mathematics and business.

Jessica Herr

March 2020 Herr SOM web Jessica Herr

Jessica Herr is a senior and the daughter of Eric and Melissa Herr of Lancaster. She is a member of the Garden Spot FFA and the High School Heroes program. Jessica was the 2019 West Lampeter Fair Queen and is president of the Lancaster County FFA Association. He works at the Lampeter Cafe, teaches elementary and middle school Sunday School classes and attends youth group at Lancaster Alliance Church, and is a member of the International Missions Team. Jessica plans to take a gap year and run for a position on the Pennsylvania State Officer Team. After that, she plans to attend college to study business and aspires to open a coffee shop.

Jacob Kopelman

Jacob is a senior and the son of Matt and Kelly Kopelman of Lancaster. He is a member of the Ski & Snowboard Club and the varsity football and track & field teams. Jacob's achievements include the honor roll, captaining the 2019 District 3 Champion football team, two LL League All-Star awards for football, and qualifying for District track & field. Outside of school, Jacob delivers pizza for Slice of Brooklyn and helps to orchestrate campaigns to help fellow students, including the league-wide orange-out and school wide yellow-out this fall. He enjoys playing chess and spending time with friends. Jacob plans to attend Widener University to study criminal justice and play football.

The Lampeter-Strasburg Board of School Directors honored the students at District's first virtual board meeting on Monday, April 7.
