December 11 – Limited-Time Mitigation Order issued by Governor Wolf and Secretary Levine
Governor Wolf and Secretary Levine have issued a Limited-Time Mitigation Order effective December 12, 2020 through January 4, 2021. The PA Department of Health has posted a Frequently Asked Questions Document for the Limited-Time Mitigation Order. Lampeter-Strasburg School District is required to follow all components of the Limited-Time Mitigation Order applicable to K-12 Schools.

November 30 - Attestation Form Posted
On November 30, L-S administrators and school board members submitted a signed Attestation Form to the PA Department of Education (PDE) and PA Department of Health (DOH) as an addition to the current Health and Safety Plan. Read the Attestation Form.

November 20 - PA Travel Mitigation Order
The PA Department of Health’s new travel mitigation order went into effect today. It states that “individuals traveling into and returning to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from any other State or Commonwealth or an international location, must produce evidence of a negative SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) test from a specimen collected within 72 hours prior to entering the Commonwealth, or quarantine for 14 days.” Read the full order and exemptions

On October 6, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine signed an Amended Order for restrictions on mass gatherings that took effect on Friday, October 9, 2020. The District's Spectator Guidelines have been revised accordingly.

October 2 - Spectator Guidelines Reverted

On October 1, 2020, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals issued a “stay” of the decision of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania holding that the Governor’s restrictions on mass gatherings are unconstitutional and unenforceable. As of October 1, the spectator guidelines have reverted back to the original 25/250 limitations.

For the safety of athletes, staff, fans, and our community, events will follow the guidelines laid out in the District’s Athletics Health and Safety Plan, as well as plans from the CDC and the PA Department of Health. We are also working in partnership with Wellspan Family & Sports Medicine and the Lancaster-Lebanon Athletic Association (the L-L League) for the upcoming season. We ask that fans review these spectator guidelines so that student athletes can safely compete for the full season.

The new resource features step-by-step tutorials and troubleshooting guides as well as a link to the district's ticketing system and help desk. Lampeter Strasburg School District plans to hold sports physicals on July 27th from 8 am-2 pm. We will be requiring sign ups this year to ensure appropriate social distancing as well as sanitizing in between each student due to COVID-19. Please see the attached announcement from Dr. Lippy detailing what is expected for sports physicals as well as sign up and day of details.
