2020 Graduate Creates Hope Garden Outside High School
For her Girl Scout Gold Award, 2020 grad Allyson Diehl revamped a bare corner near the L-S High School office as a tranquil garden for students struggling with mental health.

Instrumentalists Advance in State Band and Orchestra Competition
Junior Jack Harnish and sophomore Laura Leaman earned seats in the PMEA District 7 orchestra, and senior Nick Smucker advanced to District band and District orchestra this year.

2021-2022 School Calendar Approved
On January 4, the School Board approved the calendar for the upcoming year. The first day of the 2021-2022 school year will be Wednesday, August 25.

2020 Toys for Tots Collection
11/23-12/12
The 2020 L-S Toys for Tots campaign runs from Monday, November 23, through Saturday, December 12. School buildings will not be collection sites this year. Instead, donations (new, unwrapped toys for children between the ages of 1-12) will be accepted at Hodge Podge Antiques & Collectibles in Strasburg or at the West Lampeter Police Department. All toys collected will go to children in Lancaster County.

HS Virtual Orchestra & Choral Fall Concert
The L-S High School orchestra and choral programs are pleased to present a virtual fall concert to showcase the achievements of student musicians and vocalists so far this year. The concert video was available on YouTube through Friday, November 20.

When COVID-19 scuttled plans for the 2020 Hans Herr Pioneer Dash, The school's PTO got inventive to keep the fundraiser afloat. The team succeeded in creating an experience that merged parts of the usual event, a grade-level run at the district track, with a campus-wide scavenger hunt.

2020 Turkey Drive
Support the L-S Turkey Drive and become someone’s reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving. Donations will be accepted at schools from November 9-13.

When this year’s Lampeter Fair was closed to school trips, a pair of first-grade teachers got creative and decided that, if they couldn’t bring students to the fair, they would bring the fair to them.

Julie Stinson Named 2020 West Lampeter Fair Queen

Senior Julie Stinson won the title of 2020 West Lampeter Fair Queen at closed contest on September 23 in the Lampeter-Strasburg High School Performing Arts Center (PAC). She represented the school's band program. Classmate Kiley Turner, representing the student council, won the title of 2020 Fair Queen Alternate.

National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists Named
Three L-S seniors have been named as Semifinalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Liana Howe, Isaiah Lamison, and Wesley Leaman scored in the top 1% in the nation on the PSAT test.

L-S High School art teacher Scott Cantrell has been selected as a finalist in the painting category for the 53rd annual Art of the State exhibit from The State Museum of Pennsylvania.

L-S Receives Grant for STEM/STEAM Initiatives
The L-S Education Foundation received a grant of $25,000 from BB&T Now Truist through the bank's Economic Growth Fund at the Lancaster County Community Foundation. The funds will be used over the next three years for science, technology, art, engineering, and mathematics (STEM/STEAM) activities and programs

Marching Band Prepares for Season, Tag Day
Tag Day will be observed on Saturday, Aug. 29, but with a slight change. Instead of knocking on the doors of L-S residents to introduce themselves, band members will instead place postcards and envelopes at each house.

Wehibe Awarded 2020 LL-OAL Scholarship
2020 graduate Tara Wehibe is this year's female recipient of the LL-OAL Scholarship from the LL-League and Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster.

Lancaster Masks Donates Funds, Sanitizer for Reopening

Traffic Flow Alterations in Place To Start School Year
With safety in mind, campus traffic flow was altered over the summer. Rosier Way is now one way from the stadium field house intersection to the entrance of the L-S High School parking lot.

Reopening Update/Parent Survey

Gordley, Knowles Featured as Red Raven Emerging Artists
The work of 2020 graduates Micah Gordley and Ellie Knowles was displayed at the Red Raven Art Company on July 3.
