Mrs. Schaub's Class celebrates World Down Syndrome Day

Mrs. Schaub’s first-grade class rocked their socks on Wednesday in honor of World Down Syndrome Day. This day is usually observed on March 21 to signify the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome that leads to Down syndrome. Its goal is to advocate “for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of people with Down syndrome in our schools, communities, and around the world.” It was an extra special day for this class because it allowed students to celebrate their classmate, Mae. Everyone was excited! The Cieszynski family purchased socks for the entire class to wear on the big day. Even SSD Gabby rocked some socks to show love for her friend. Rock on!
