Dr. Westphal will take the reins as Lampeter Elementary School principal, and Miss Strawser will join the administration team as an assistant principal at L-S High School.

Dr. Westphal joined the District in 2016 as an assistant high school principal. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) degree in Educational Leadership and Management, an M.S. Degree, and a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Drexel University, an M.Ed. Before coming to L-S, Dr. Westphal spent more than a decade as a mathematics teacher and several years in K-12 STEM supervisory roles. She resides in Lititz.
“Dr. Westphal will be a great asset to Lampeter Elementary School,” said Mrs. Melissa Herr, School Board President, at the Board’s May 18 meeting. “She has served us very well at the high school and leaves big shoes to fill.”
Miss Eva Strawser, Lampeter-Strasburg High School Assistant Principal
Replacing Dr. Westphal is Miss Eva Strawser, a 2007 L-S graduate. She served as a Special Education teacher at Lampeter-Strasburg High School and, most recently, served as a fifth-grade classroom teacher and team leader at Hans Herr Elementary School. Miss Strawser earned an M.Ed. Degree and Principal Certification from the University of Scranton and a B.S. Degree with Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education (PK-12) Certifications. Since 2011, Miss Strawser has served as an advisor for several extracurricular activities and has held numerous positions with the marching band. She resides in Strasburg.
“It’s very exciting to see the recommendation for the assistant high school principal being someone who is in the District and who has . . . grown and developed those leadership skills within the District,” said School Board Vice President Mrs. Pat Pontz at the Board’s June 18 meeting.
Dr. Westphal and Miss Strawser officially begin in their new roles on July 1, 2020.
