When schools closed unexpectedly last spring, the Lampeter-Strasburg Education Association (LSEA) sprang into action. Teachers organized an online t-shirt sale to raise money for local families in need. The timely design featured a masked Pioneer and the tagline 2020 L-S Quarantine: We Are All In This Together. The shirts sold out quickly, netting nearly $3,000, and a second sale brought the total to $6,754.

LSEA donated money raised from the t-shirt sales to L-S Community Closet, a local nonprofit organization that works hand-in-hand with the District’s social worker to identify and fulfill student needs. L-S Community Closet provides aid to students at all grade levels, from kindergarten school supplies to professional clothing for post-grad interviews. The organization survives on donations and plans to use the LSEA funds to help students and their families through the ongoing pandemic.
