High School Names March 2021 Students of the Month

A freshman, a sophomore, and two seniors received recognition from L-S faculty for their achievements in March, 2021.

Pioneer Superlatives

Rowan Kimmel

Rowan is a sophomore and the daughter of Scott and Wendy Kimmel of Lancaster. At school, she is active in the Pioneer Interact service club, Asian Cultures Club, Varsity Club, and the field hockey and lacrosse teams. Rowan excels academically as a member of the distinguished honor roll and a participant in the MatchCounts State Competition, and artistically as a winner of the Martin Meylin and Pioneer Coffee Shop logo contests. She volunteers at the annual St. Joseph's Church Cookie Drive and the Broadkill Beach Coastal Cleanup and fills her free time with arts & crafts, hiking, skimboarding, golf, and pickleball. Rowan plans to pursue a career in engineering or business.

Bennett Wehibe

Bennett is a freshman and the son of Steve and Cathy Wehibe of Lancaster. At school, he is a member of the band, jazz band, Pioneer Interact service club, student council, and the basketball team. A distinguished honor roll student, Bennett keeps busy playing club soccer for PA Classics MLS Next Academy, participating in his church youth group, and serving as a soccer referee and a TOPS Soccer Volunteer Buddy. He also enjoys playing the guitar, tennis, going to the beach and summer camp, and watching March Madness. Bennett's plans include professional soccer and engineering.

Jordan Knisely

Jordan is a senior and the daughter of Greg and Heidi Knisely of Strasburg. At school, Jordan is involved with the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), the High School Heroes mentoring program, set construction for plays and musicals, and art. She is an honor roll student and the winner of a Scholastic Silver Key for digital art, a Lancaster County Young Artist Silver Award for graphic design, and several honorable mentions in a variety of categories. Outside of school, Jordan enjoys art, sewing, taking care of her houseplants, listening to music, and watching movies with her family. She plans to attend the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City to earn a BFA in illustration and aspires to become an illustrator and artist.

Scott Miller

Scott is a senior and the son of Jennifer Harnish of Lancaster and Jeremy Miller. He is a member of the L-S High School chess club. Outside of school, Scott enjoys cooking, woodworking, and playing the guitar. He plans to pursue a career as a defense attorney.
