High School Recognizes April 2021 Students of the Month
L-S High School faculty recognized three seniors and one junior for their achievements in April, 2021.
Camryn is a senior and the daughter of Leslie and Joel Byler of Lampeter. She is the captain of both the varsity softball team and varsity volleyball team. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Club, and the High School Heroes mentoring program. Camryn is on the distinguished honor roll and received recognition in athletics as volleyball academic All-Star in 2020 and first-team section All-Star and second-team All-State for softball in 2019. Outside of school, she volunteers at softball camps and tournaments and spends time reading, drawing, babysitting, and exercising. Camryn plans to pursue further her education and pursue a career in exercise and sports science.
Owen is a senior and the son of Josh and Jill Fikkert and Courtney and Wendell Christensen. He resides in Lampeter. An honor roll student, Owen is also a member of the varsity baseball and football teams and National Honor Society. He volunteers at youth baseball and football camps and enjoys fishing. Owen plans to attend college to pursue a degree in marketing.
Students of the Month
Aubry is a junior and the daughter of Tiffany and Shawn Horner of Lampeter. Aubry is a member of the varsity softball team and the school chorus. She volunteers at Aaron’s Acres and likes to play softball, go hiking, and spend time with friends and family. Aubrey plans to attend college to become a special education teacher.
Elijah is a senior and the son of Will and Handrick Carr of Willow Street. He is a member of the varsity football teams, the Fellowship of Christian Students, the High School Heroes mentoring program, and the Student Advisory Board. Elijah is an honor roll student and was Senior of the Week, Pioneer of the Year, and Homecoming King first runner-up. His football awards include the RUDY Award and a PennLive All-Star honorable mention. Outside of school, Elijah is involved at church and has helped advertise for a local orthodontist. He loves God and enjoys sports, working out, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family. He plans to attend college to major in psychology, minor in business, and play football. Elijah looks forward to using his degree to help others.
