Elizabeth describes the role of a librarian in 2030 with these words: “While the physical library may look different and the tools librarians use may change, students and the school community will remain at the heart of the future school library program. Librarians will undoubtedly continue to foster a love of reading and learning and promote equitable access to resources, while at the same time evolving and innovating. School librarians will also continue to build student’s critical thinking skills and help students develop skills they will need to navigate the world around them. In 2030, the student’s world will include access to more information than ever before. The role of the librarian will therefore be critical as they assist and teach students to inquire, include, collaborate, curate, explore and engage. “
