High School Orchestra and Choral Programs Release Virtual Fall Concert

Fall Concert Social

The Lampeter-Strasburg High School orchestra and choral programs are pleased to present their 2020 Virtual Fall Concert. Directors had their work cut out for them this year, with health and safety protocols making practices anything but normal. Regardless, the groups persevered to create the beautiful music showcased here. The video was on YouTube with permission from artists through November 20. Bravo!

About This Concert

These ensembles were created out of the need to keep class sizes within L-S Health and Safety plan guidelines while keeping in mind the hybrid schedule at the HS. So, as directors, we took a look at all the A-L musicians and M-Z musicians in our groups and divided them into ensembles whose size followed the guidelines and had the best possible balance of voices or instrumentation. Also, smaller ensemble size increases the amount of individual performer responsibility and decreases the individual’s margin for error, so to speak. The students have done a great job of working within those parameters to continue making music. We are pleased to have the opportunity to share their work with the school and community.

-Robert Shaubach, orchestra director
-Erik Welchans, choral director
