March 2019 Students of the Month
Two seniors, a junior, and a sophomore are recognized as Pioneer Superlatives and Students of the Month for their achievements during March 2019.
Pioneer Superlatives

Aliza Howe
Aliza is a junior and the daughter of Thomas Howe of Akron and Pamela Kinsey of Lancaster. She is a member of the L-SHS marching band, National Honor Society, the Enigma Club, the Philosophy Club, and the distinguished honor roll. Aliza is a talented writer, having received a Scholastic Gold Key for her science fiction/fantasy writing and a Burrowes Scholar award for English Language Arts. Outside of school, she volunteers at Conestoga View Nursing and Rehabilitation and enjoys writing, reading, drawing, and playing and recording guitar. Aliza plans to study computer science in college and continue noveling and playing guitar for personal fulfillment.

Jarrett Emmerling
Jarrett is a senior and the son of Gregory and Cindy Emmerling of Lancaster. He is active at LSHS as member of the STEM Club, Quiz Bowl team, play/musical set construction crew, and the distinguished honor roll. He has received recognition as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and a South Lancaster Rotary Club Student of the Month. Jarrett enjoys fencing at Spooky Nook as well as rock climbing, hiking, writing, and reading. He plans to study mechanical engineering in college and to enter the space industry.
Students of the Month

Lexi Wise
Lexi is a sophomore and the daughter of Yvonne Perry of Willow Street. She is a member of the L-SHS Aevidum Club and was also a Student of the Month at Martin Meylin Middle School. Lexi helps out at church and around the house and enjoys dancing, gymnastics, and drawing. She is planning to pursue a career as a marine biologist.

Nicolas Lopez Erazo
Nicolas is a senior and the son of Maximo Lopez and Paulina Erazo of Willow Street. He has been an honor roll student and finalist of the stock exchange competition at his previous school in Ecuador and has been an honor roll or distinguished honor roll student since arriving at L-SHS. Nicolas volunteers at Main Street Closet and enjoys playing soccer and video games. He will study business administration and finance at Millersville University and plans to pursue a career as a financial advisor.
