Winter Athletes Excel in District Competition

Boys Basketball - Beers Joins 1,000 Point Club

Senior Seth Beers joined an exclusive group of Pioneer athletes on February 24 by scoring 1000th point of his high school basketball career. He is only the eighth player in L-S history to reach that benchmark. Seth helped to lead the Pioneers to their fifth consecutive Section 3 victory.

Bowling - Cox Qualifies for Regional Championships

Senior Brent Cox's performance at this year's LL League Championship earned him a spot at the 2020 Eastern PA Regional Championships. The event was held February 28-29 at Leisure Lanes in Mountville.

Wrestling - Seven Compete, Harnish Advances to States

Seven wrestlers qualified for the 2020 District III M&T Bank Wrestling Championships at Spring Grove High School. The team finished 20th out of 53 AAA teams with 34 points. Junior Zac Shelley advanced to the quarterfinals and finished fifth in his class. Junior Arik Harnish advanced to semifinals and finished third in his class. Arik will compete at the PIAA Individual State Wrestling Championships, which will be held at the Giant Center in Hershey from March 5-8.

Swimming - 12 Compete at District Meet, Horner Advances to States

After celebrating the L-S swim program's first-ever girls section victory, the Pioneers will send a dozen swimmers to the PIAA District III Swimming Championship Meet. The meet was held February 28-29 at Cumberland Valley High School. Swimmers ended the weekend with three individual medals, one relay medal, and three new school records. Senior Catherine Horner qualified in the 100 backstroke for the 2020 PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held March 11-14 at Bucknell University.
