Senior End-of-Year Activities Set
End of year activities for the Class of 2020 will begin after Memorial Day:
Item Collection and Distribution
Tuesday, May 26
Seniors will come to the school at designated times (sent to students by email) to drop off Chromebooks and other school-owned items and pick up class t-shirts and detailed instructions for the parade and for graduation day.
Wednesday, May 27
The L-S Ministerium will conduct this year’s Baccalaureate ceremony virtually and will premiere it on YouTube at 7 p.m. Please note that Baccalaureate will not be shown on the district YouTube channel, but the link will be shared here and on L-S Facebook and Twitter.
Thursday, May 28
The Class of 2020 will board school buses, eight students per bus to meet proper social distancing standards, and will travel through Strasburg, Willow Street, and Lampeter before returning to campus to the cheers of K-12 faculty and staff. The Senior Parade is the socially-distanced version of the traditional Senior Walk, during which seniors visit schools in their graduation attire and greet younger students and teachers. On parade day, L-S residents are encouraged to decorate with banners, lights, and signs in support of seniors, who will be sure to see the it during their travels. The parade kicks off at 7 p.m. Campus will be closed to everyone but L-S employees during this time.
Friday, May 29
Seniors and their families will visit campus by car to receive diplomas, drive through a special memory lane area, and be provided with a photo opportunity. Exact arrival times will be communicated with seniors. The commencement ceremony will premiere on the L-S YouTube channel at 8 p.m. Campus will be closed to the public during commencement exercises.
