L-S High School February 2020 Students of the Month
Lampeter-Strasburg High School teachers selected two seniors as February's Pioneer Superlatives and a sophomore and junior as Students of the Month.
Hannah is a senior and the daughter of Eric and Susan Schultheis of Lancaster. At school, she is active in band, chorus, orchestra, marching band, pit orchestra, yearbook staff, and on the cross country, indoor track, and track and field teams. Hannah is a scholar athlete, a winner of individual sports awards, a member of National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society, and has earned a spot on the distinguished honor roll every semester throughout high school. She volunteers at Greystone Manor, babysits, and enjoys running, reading, animals, and playing with her cats. Hannah is planning to attend college to study chemistry and would like to pursue research in chemistry and environmental science.
Joshua is a senior and the son of Clifford and Bobbi Jo Horst of Lancaster. He is a member of the cross country, indoor track, and track teams at school as well as National Honor Society and the honor roll throughout high school. Josh is active at his church in youth group and student life camps and enjoys spending time with friends and studying anatomy and physiology. He plans to attend Messiah College to earn his BSN and prepare for a career in nursing.
Students of the Month
Savannah is a sophomore and the daughter of Shawn and Kimona Keenen of Lancaster. She is a member of the honor roll, Mini-THON Club, Scrub Club, D&D Club, and is the volleyball team manager. Savannah attends Grace Community Church youth group, volunteers at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, and is an ambassador for March of Dimes and Make-A-Wish. She is the recipient of the Rising Diamond Award from Four Diamonds and the Caped Crusader Award from Central Penn Parent Magazine. Savannah enjoys spending her free time painting, roller skating, playing volleyball, and learning about history. She plans to attend Penn State Abington to prepare for a career as a physical therapist.
Bryce is a junior and the son of Karen and John Johnson of Strasburg. He is currently a half-day student in the CTC’s manufacturing program and is a member of the Garden Spot FFA at school. Bryce is an Eagle Scout and has earned FFA accolades including a bronze medal at the National FFA Convention for Agricultural Issues CDE and a PA Keystone State Degree. He is a member of BSA Troop 56 and is employed at Zimmerman’s Hardware. Bryce enjoys welding, fixing outdoor power equipment, camping, restoring old tractors and vintage equipment and participating in the FFA. He plans to pursue a career as a welder fabricator.
