LSHS Students of the Month
Morgan is a senior and the daughter of Lori and Coley Bucher of Lancaster. She is the vice president of the Class of 2019, the co-treasurer of student council, and a member of National Honor Society, the High School Heroes, and Mini-THON. Morgan has been on the distinguished honor roll through all four years of high school and was also the Lancaster South Rotary Club Student of the Month for November 2018. She represented student council in this year’s Lampeter Community Fair Queen competition and was selected as runner-up/alternate for the crown. Outside of school, Morgan volunteers at Lancaster General Hospital, works part time at Lampeter Cafe, and enjoys reading, watching sports, visiting Rehoboth Beach, and spending time with friends and family. She plans to attend a 4-year university to study biology and then a 2-year program to become a physician’s assistant.
Andrew is a junior and the son of Melissa and Brian Bliss of Lancaster. He is a marching band drum major and plays saxophone in concert band, jazz band, and full orchestra and is a member of the wrestling team, Pioneer Interact Club, National Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Andrew has been recognized as an L-L League Academic All-Star and with distinguished honors by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. He is pursuing an independent biomedical research partnership and is interested in music and politics. Andrew plans to study mechanical and biomedical engineering in college.
Students of the Month
Jenna is a freshman and the daughter of Melissa and Daniel Istvanik of Willow Street. She is a member of the school chorus and the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS). Outside of school Jenna enjoys shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She plans to pursue a career as a preschool/early childhood educator.
Hunter is a sophomore and the son of Jessica and Robert Mitchell of Lancaster. He has consistently been on the honor roll since sixth grade. Hunter’s hobbies include competing in demolition derbies, hunting, and fishing. After graduating from L-S, he plans to travel and continue his studies.
