March 2018 Students of the Month
Four Lampeter-Strasburg High School students have been recognized for their achievements and recognized as March 2018 Pioneer Superlatives and Students of the Month.

Laura Komara
Laura is a senior and the daughter of Kevin Komara and Jeanette Bernardo of Willow Street. She is a member of the marching band, jazz band, concert band, full orchestra, pit orchestra, and the L-S Thespian Society. A regular on the honor roll, Laura is also part of National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and a 11th grade Burrowes Scholar for Instrumental Music. She participates in youth group and enjoys traveling, crafting, and spending time with family and friends. Rachel is planning to study environmental science and anthropology at college.

Ramon Estevez
Ramon is a senior and the son of Ramon and Melissa Estevez of Strasburg. He is a member of the varsity soccer and wrestling teams, Varsity Club, Chess Club, Ski & Snowboard Club, and the distinguished honor roll. Ramon is the co-captain of the wrestling team and has received many athletic awards, including several for academic achievement. Outside of school, he works at Aeropostale and volunteers for L-S Community Closet and Friday Food for the Poor. Ramon spends his free time playing sports, exercising, hiking, doing community service, and spending time with friends. He is planning to major in biomedical engineering and to join the Army ROTC.

Arielis Rivera Camacho
Arielis is a sophomore and the daughter of Anthony Rivera and Aracelis Camacho of Willow Street. She is new to L-S, but was a member of the honor roll, an active participant in extracurricular activities, and an award-winning helper for disabled children at her old school in Puerto Rico. Arielis attends church and volunteers serving food to the homeless. She enjoys reading and history and is planning to pursue a career as an anesthesiologist.

Brent Cox
Brent is a sophomore and the son of Karl and Diane Cox of Willow Street. At L-S, he is a member of the bowling team and the honor roll. Brent attends church in Lampeter and participates in a junior league bowling. He enjoys shooting basketball and bowling and remains undecided about his plans after graduation.

Arielis, Brent, and Ramon receive certificates of recognition from Mrs. Susan Rhoades at the April 3 meeting of the L-S Board of School Directors.
