December 2017 High School Students of the Month

Four Lampeter-Strasburg High School students have been recognized for their achievements and recognized as December 2017 Pioneer Superlatives and Students of the Month.

Hannah Mencer Small PS December 2017 Hannah Mencer

Hannah Mencer

Hannah is a sophomore and the daughter of Marion and Suellen Mencer of Lancaster. At LSHS, she is a member of the distinguished honor roll, the pit orchestra, and the full orchestra. Hannah is a figure skater and enjoys reading, writing, and playing the piano. She plans to attend college to become a surgeon.

Luke Tordoff small PS December 2017 Luke Tordoff

Luke Tordoff

Luke is a senior and the son of Kevin and Suzanne Tordoff of Lancaster. This is his second time as a Pioneer Superlative; he was also selected as a freshman. Luke is a member of the High School Heroes program, National Honor Society, student council, prom committee, Mini-THON committee, and the CFA Leader Academy. Outside of school, Luke attends youth group at Willow Street Mennonite Church, serves as a works in technology at the Children’s Church at Lancaster Alliance Church, and enjoys running, photography, hiking, and traveling. He will attend Gordon College for psychology and social work and then law school to study family law.

Abby Hess Small SOM December 2017 Abigail Hess

Abigail Hess

Abigail is a senior and the daughter of Brian Hess of Millersville and Linda Hess of Lanacaster. Abby is active in the youth group at Grace Community Church and volunteers at Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center. Her interests include painting, pottery, and animals. Abby plans to pursue a career working with animals, either in animal welfare or in a veterinary office, or a career in childcare.

Cody Reiff small SOM December 2017 Cody Reiff

Cody Reiff

Cody is a senior and the son of Lloyd and Susan Reiff of Lancaster. Cody is a member of the honor roll, Varsity Club, and the varsity football and wrestling teams. He has been named an LL-League 2nd team All-Star as an inside linebreaker and has received the Pioneer football defensive player of the year award. Cody attends New Life in Jesus Fellowship and works for Castlerock Landscaping. He enjoys hunting and fishing and plans to pursue a career as a wildlife conservation officer.
