L-S Vocalists Advance in Competition
The High School's choral department, under the direction of Mr. Erik Welchans, is thriving. Eleven vocalists participated in the L-S-hosted Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators Association (LLMEA) County Chorus festival in January. Since then, standouts were selected by audition for District, Regional, and All-State choral festivals. Students also participated in a holiday concert, the Lampeter-Strasburg Thespian Society's production of High School Musical, and Madrigals performances in the community.
Don't miss the chance to catch a choral performance at the District Chorus Festival on March 28 and the Chorus/Orchestra Spring Concert on May 11. Both events are free and start at 7:30pm at the LSHS Performing Arts Center.
Six vocalists advanced to the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 7 Chorus Festival, which was held January 13-14 at ELCO High School. District 7 includes Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties.
