Student Featured in SUBWAY 'Cookie That Cares' Campaign
We’re so proud of seventh grader Damien Smucker, who is one of three children to represent this year's Central Pennsylvania SUBWAY® ‘Cookie That Cares’ campaign. He can be seen on billboards and on posters at SUBWAY® restaurants. A percentage of M&M/Rainbow Gem cookie sales during the month of February will be donated to THON and the Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Last year SUBWAY® raised $49 thousand through this effort to help children like Damien.
THON is Penn State’s annual dance marathon to raise funds and provide support in the fight against childhood cancer. It is the world’s largest student-run charity. So far, its 16,500 student volunteers have helped 3,700 families and raised $136 million to aid children and their families and to fund cancer research. This year’s event will be held from February 17-19 at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center.
