LSHS Students of the Month
Four Lampeter-Strasburg High School students have been recognized for their achievements during February 2018.
Katrina is a junior and the daughter of Lazaro Herrera-Herbert of Wallingford and Elizabeth Nolan of Lancaster. She is a member of the cross country and track and field teams, National Honor Society, chorus, Madrigals, and recently appeared as Anita in the L-S Thespian Society’s production of West Side Story. Katrina is a winner of the Strath Haven Theatre Arts Award, an honoree in the National Hispanic Recognition Program, and is a published poet. Outside of school, she volunteers at Lancaster General Hospital and Water Street Rescue Mission and enjoys running, the performing arts, writing poetry and fiction, and reading. Katrina plans to study medicine and to become a surgeon. She is also planning to pursue creative writing and poetry and will continue publishing her work.
Dylan is a senior and the son Celina Grau of Lancaster. He is the vice president of the senior class, the senior representative to the school board, an L-S Hero, ski and snowboard club participant, honor roll student, and a member of the cross country, swimming, and track and field teams. Dylan is an altar server at Sacred Heart Church and works at House of Pizza. He spends his free time swimming, running, and spending time with friends and family. He plans to attend a four-year university to study medicine.
Students of the Month
Bailee is a freshman and the daughter of Daniel and Vanessa Herr of Lancaster. She is a member of the Pioneer Interact Club, the Fellowship of Christian Students, and the Spring Musical stage crew. Bailee is a school science fair winner and has advanced to the countywide fair. She enjoys playing soccer, astronomy, dogs, and her acro (a mix of acrobatics and dance) class and is planning a career in astronomy or working with animals.
Chris is senior and the son of John Biondi or Strasburg and Carrie Winters of Narvon. He is a member of the Pioneer Interact Club, the honor roll, and the basketball team. Chris works in lawn care and assists neighbors with yardwork and snow removal. He enjoys the culinary arts as well as spending time with friends. After graduation, Chris plans to study accounting and hopes to run his own business.
The students also were recognized at the March 5 meeting of the Board of School Directors. Congratulations!
