High School Assistant Principal Earns Doctorate

Lampeter-Strasburg High School assistant principal Michele Westphal enjoyed her first school day as Dr. Michele Westphal on Friday, September 29. On September 28, she successfully defended her dissertation and earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree and superintendent letter of eligibility from Drexel University. Throughout the day, colleagues and students congratulated the District's newest doctor on her impressive achievement.
Dr. Westphal joined the High School administration team at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. She was previously employed as a curriculum & instruction consultant for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU13) and has an extensive background as both a mathematics consultant and teacher. In addition to her Ed.D., Dr. Westphal holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University, a M.A. in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University, a M.S. in Higher Education from Drexel University, and a B.S. in Secondary Education from Pennsylvania State University.
