L-S High School Club Brings Assembly, Activities to Elementary Students

Reptile Day CFA Leader Academy

Forgotten Friend Reptile Santuary presenter Jesse Rothacker introduces Ross Elementary students to one of his reptilian friends

On Monday, March 26, the members of the High School’s Chick-fil-A Leader Academy club brought a fun Reptile Day to the students at Ross Elementary School in Lancaster. Led by club advisors Mrs. Lynch and Mrs. Garrett, the group facilitated an assembly from Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary and a collection of reptile-themed games, crafts, books, and snacks for their new Ross Elementary friends.

Reptile Day was the high school group’s Impact Project - a culmination of a year’s worth of Chick-fil-A Leader Academy training. Club members build their Impact Project from the ground up. They hatched the idea of a reptile day at an elementary school outside of the district, planned and coordinated the visit, gathered resources, and implemented the program to great success.
