Girls will play Mastery North on Saturday, March 10, at 3:30 p.m. at South Philadelphia HS.

Varsity Club Shoe Drive
The L-S High School Varsity Club is collecting shoes of all styles and sizes for children in need from November 6-10, 2017. Please send shoes with a high school student or drop them off in the High School office.

2017 Turkey Drive
Schools will again be collecting food items and cash donations to provide meals to families in our community. Reservations for meals are due November 10 and collections run from November 13-17 in all schools.

L-S Tradition: Band Buddy Night
On a special Friday night each fall, the Lampeter-Strasburg Marching Band takes middle school band members under its wing to participate in the organized chaos of a home football game.

Fifth Graders Get Hands-On with Robotics
Students from Mrs. Maser and Mrs. Strawser's classes programmed small robots and learned about robotics through a visit from STEM in Gear, a educational program from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

District Receives Dart Grant for Computer Science
Lampeter-Strasburg School District received a $4,925 grant from the Dart Foundation to implement computer science offerings at the High School.

Lippy Named LL League AD of the Year
L-S's Branden Lippy has been named the Lancaster-Lebanon County Athletic Association (LL-League) Athletic Director of the Year.

September 2017 High School Students of the Month
Lampeter-Strasburg High School staff selected four students as the year's first Students of the Month. Junior Hadassah Hoover and sophomore Douglas Bell are the Pioneer Superlatives while seniors Amanda Hay and Luke Weigel are Students of the Month.

2017 Homecoming Court
Sixteen seniors are candidates for the 2017 Homecoming Court. The king will be crowned at the powderpuff game on October 12 and the queen will be crowned at the football game on October 13.

Fifth Graders Star in Ag Week Video
Hans Herr fifth graders are featured in Lancaster Online’s Thank a Farmer video for Pennsylvania Ag Week (October 7-13). Students visited Oregon Dairy last week for a field trip to learn about the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in agriculture.
Playing for Hope Shirts for Sale Until 10/2
The Pioneer football booster club is playing its annual charity game on October 20. This year's beneficiary is A Week Away, founded by L-S alum Caleb Walker. Short and long sleeved t-shirts are available for purchase through Monday, 10/2.

Students Lend a Helping Hand to Hurricane Victims
Lampeter-Strasburg High School students raised over $3600 for the Red Cross and middle and elementary schools are partnering to sell bracelets to help students in the Houston Independent School District.
2017 Fair Queen Candidates

Eleven Lampeter-Strasburg High School students will vie for the title of 2017 West Lampeter Fair Queen. The candidates are sponsored by High School clubs and selected by the clubs' members and advisors.

Summer with the Garden Spot FFA
The Garden Spot FFA kicked off the summer with a three day trip to Penn State for Pennsylvania FFA State Convention on June 13-15. Twenty-Seven members of our chapter attended the convention.

Hank the Health Hero, the CHI St. Joseph Children's Health education puppet, visited Lampeter Elementary shortly before the beginning of the school year for a photo shoot.
L-S Community Closet Fall/Winter Clothing Drive

The fall/winter clothing collection and distribution will be held on September 15th and 16th at Lampeter United Methodist Church.

Back-to-School Bash
The Lampeter United Methodist Church will host a free pancake breakfast and clothing/school supply event for community children in need on August 12.

Second Graders Collect Winter Warming Items
Team teachers set a goal for students in the District’s ten second grade classes to collectively bring in 100 pieces of cold weather gear like mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves, for children in need.

Martin Meylin's King and Queen of Hearts
Each January, any eighth grader can nominate a fellow classmate as a candidate for King or Queen of Hearts. Nominations are based on kindness, helpfulness, and good-heartedness, as well as school spirit and involvement in activities.

Musser and Shelton named NMSC Finalists
Seniors Nathan Musser and Conner Shelton received word this morning that both had been named finalists in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. The designation is reserved for the 15,000 highest-scoring students in the United States.

Senior Kyle Knapp received a $500 scholarship from the Lancaster County Optimist Club for penning the winning essay in the group's annual contest.

Classroom in the Field Days
Students from the High School's advanced agriculture science class led fifth graders through a series of hands-on STEM stations at Classroom in the Field Days. Lessons included the growth and production of crops, soil health, agricultural technology, and more during the on-campus "field trips."

2018 Prom
Despite a rainy start to the day, the 2018 Lampeter-Strasburg High School prom turned out to be a lovely affair. Hanna Garber and Steven Greenwood were crowned king and queen.

Third Grade Spelling Bee
Konrad Poniatowski, Harry Skiles, and Kayla Weese were the top three spellers in the annual Hans Herr Third Grade Spelling Bee.

2018 Senior Awards
Sixty-six members of the Class of 2018 received scholarship awards totaling more than $77,000 at Senior Awards Night on May 17.

Third Graders Participate in Kindness Rocks Project
Third graders have been paying it forward by participating in the Kindness Rocks Project, a growing movement built around spreading cheer by decorating rocks with encouraging messages and then hiding the creations for others to find.

Martin Meylin's ELA teacher Christine Willig is the 2018 Teacher of the Year and Mary Caperton Morton (Class of 2000) is the 2018 Distinguished Alumni. The award winners, plus years-of-services honorees and retirees, were honored at the 44th annual Board Recognition Banquet on May 11.

Davidson Shines in Wrestling Tournaments
Sophomore Logan Davidson has had a remarkable month of wrestling, qualifying for the USA National Tournament and placing 4th at the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Association's Eastern Nationals Tournament.
