The American FFA Degree was awarded to three Lampeter-Strasburg graduates on November 2 at the National FFA Convention & Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. The American FFA Degree is awarded only to FFA members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA. Only half of one percent of FFA members receive the degree, making it one of the organization’s highest honors.
Aaron Wissler – Aaron was not raised on a farm. He worked at a local farm and raised dairy beef for his work experience. He is continuing his education in diesel mechanics at UTI in Exton, PA.
Scott McMichael – Scott was not raised on a farm. He worked at EM Herr and raised beef animals during high school. He studied diesel mechanics and now works at Turkey Hill Dairy in Conestoga, PA.
Janae Herr – Janae was raised on a farm and had beef and sheep projects for her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). She is currently studying at Penn State University with the goal of becoming an agriculture teacher.
All three degree winners were very active in the L-S chapter of the FFA, holding offices and providing leadership for their classes and the classes behind them. We wish them the best as they travel to Louisville this weekend to receive their awards.
