High School Students of the Month Named for February 2017

Four Lampeter-Strasburg High School students received recognition for their efforts and achievements during February.

Pioneer Superlatives

Hannah Adams

Hannah is a junior and the daughter of Cameron Adams and Leslie Adams of Willow Street and Lancaster. Hannah is a member of the varsity soccer team, Varsity Club, Pioneer Interact Club, student council, and National Honor Society. She is a member of the distinguished honor roll and a Burrowes Scholar, as well as the winner of a Coaches Award for soccer. Hannah spends her free time playing soccer, traveling, and attending youth group and plans to pursue a career in nursing.

Gaige Barber

Gaige is a senior and the son David and Wendy Barber of Strasburg. He is active at LSHS as Class Treasurer, a position he’s held for all four years of high school, and is a member of the varsity lacrosse team, Pioneer Interact Club, High School Heroes program, the Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, and National Honor Society. An honor roll member, he has been a South Rotary Student of the Month and represented our area in the PA Keystone Games for lacrosse. Gaige volunteers at events like L-S Idol and post-prom and has coached youth boys’ lacrosse for four years. He works as a lifeguard at the Strasburg Pool. Gaige enjoys reading, traveling, and playing video games in his free time. He plans to attend Wilkes University to study mechanical engineering and play lacrosse.

Sarah Capoferri

Sarah is a sophomore and the daughter of Stephen and Wendy Capoferri of Lancaster. She is a member of the varsity tennis team and has earned distinctions like First Team LL-League All-Star, First Team Section 2 All-Star, and Section 2 Player of the Year. As a freshman, Sarah placed second in the District III AA doubles championship and qualified for the PIAA championship with her sister Taylor. She volunteers at Tennis Central and works as a counselor at Tennis Aces camp. She also works at the Speckled Hen and attends church at the Worship Center. Sarah enjoys tennis, running, traveling, concerts, and spending time with friends and family. She plans to attend college to become a child behavior specialist or an occupational therapist.

Timothy DeWalt

Tim DeWalt February 2017 SOM web Timothy DeWalt

Timothy is a junior and the son of James and Donna DeWalt of Strasburg. He is a member of the varsity football and lacrosse teams and the Pioneer Interact Club. Timothy is an honor roll member and is a recipient of a team award for lacrosse. He volunteers at football and lacrosse youth camps and enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, and working out. After graduation, Timothy plans to pursue a career as a deer farmer or a personal trainer.
