Wednesday, January 17, 2018, the Lampeter-Strasburg School District is is closed.
School is now in session on Friday, January 19, and will be closed for students on Monday, January 22, for an inservice day. HS final exams are now 1/18 and 1/19 with parent-approved early dismissal on Friday.
High School Students of the Month
Four Lampeter-Strasburg High School students have been recognized for their achievements and named as October 2015 Pioneer Superlatives and Students of the Month.
Rebecca is a senior and the daughter of Saul and Joann Cohen of Strasburg. At LSHS she is the senior class secretary as well as the captain of the varsity volleyball team and a member of Pioneer Interact, Student Council, Mini-THON, and National Honor Society. Rebecca plays club volleyball and volunteers at Lancaster General Hospital and the Lancaster Science Factory’s camp. She enjoys reading, playing volleyball, watching television, and spending time with friends. Rebecca plans to attend college and medical school to become a pediatrician.
Logan is a junior and the son of David and Jill Emmert of Lancaster. He is a marching band drum major, secretary of the L-S Thespian Society, and a member of concert band, jazz band, chorus, Madrigals, orchestra, fall play, spring musical, and the tennis team. In his free time, Logan enjoys vocal and instrumental music, composing, and travel. He is undecided about future plans, but is interested in both music and medicine.
Marissa is a junior and the daughter Duane and Doris Petersheim of Willow Street. At school, she is a member of the varsity volleyball team. Marissa attends church and youth group at the Worship Center and has attended the Young Women’s Futures Symposium. Her interests include going on missions trips, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family. Marissa plans to pursue a career working for IU13 with special needs children.
Logan is a sophomore and the son of Timothy and Shari Bradley of Lancaster. He is a member of the honor roll, Pioneer Interact Club and the football, basketball, and lacrosse teams. Logan plays on the YMCA basketball team and enjoys sports, surfing, ping-pong, and cooking. He plans to study at Penn State University to become a chiropractor.
