Fresh off an exciting week at the 89th Annual West Lampeter Fair, the Lampeter-Strasburg community will be treated to six days of Pioneer Pride for Homecoming Week 2013. Students at Lampeter-Strasburg High School will have a chance to participate in Spirit Week activities like Crazy Hat Day (Wednesday) and Blue and White Day (Friday). The classes will compete for the title of most spirited, with the winning class enjoying an ice cream sundae party in the cafeteria on Friday afternoon.

Homecoming Week also is stuffed with events, including varsity and JV athletic events each day (a schedule can be found on the athletics page) and traditional Homecoming festivities:

Thursday, October 3

High school students have the opportunity to take part in a Homecoming Fair at lunch time on Thursday and an after-school tailgate party. The day ends with the annual Powder Puff Football Game, where the senior girls will take on the junior girls in a game of flag football while the junior and senior boys cheerlead. The 2013 Homecoming King will be crowned at half time. The Powder Puff game begins at 7pm and is open to the public. Admission is $2 admission and proceeds benefits the LSHS Student Council.

Friday, October 4

L-S students, alumni and the local community will converge on JK Mechanical Stadium for the big game versus Elizabethtown. The 2013 Homecoming Queen will be crowned at half time. The game begins at 7pm. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for ages 18 and under. Two concession stands will be in operation.

Saturday, October 5

Lampeter-Strasburg High School students can end the special week by going “Under the Sea” for the homecoming dance, which begins at 7pm in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are $10 per person (students and their guests only) and registration forms are available in the high school office.
