Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Morning Arrival LSHS

Parents and Guardians: please follow these procedures regarding times and locations for student drop-off and pick-up.

Lampeter Elementary School

Arrival

Students being transported by parents are required to be dropped off at the lower level entrance between 8:40 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. Students should not arrive at school before 8:40 a.m. At 8:55 a.m. the lower level entrance is locked. Students arriving after 8:55 a.m. are considered tardy and are required to report to the building office with their parents to sign in before going to their classrooms.

Dismissal

When a child is being picked up early, the child must bring a parent note to school in the morning. Emails and faxes will not be accepted. A child will only be released to persons on the Student Release Form and with appropriate written notification from the parent, including child's name, teacher, and time of release. Adults picking up students should be prepared to show identification. If permission is being requested for a child to be picked up by another parent from school, a note of approval is required from the requesting parent. This note must be given to the student’s teacher at the beginning of the day. Please include your child’s first and last name, his/her teacher’s name, and your signature. Each student requesting a parent pick-up will be required to meet his/her parent at the lower level entrance.

Pick-up Procedures

  1. Prior to 3:10 p.m. and after 3:35 p.m. - Parents must sign out and pick up students at main office.
  2. Between 3:10 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. - Parents must sign out and pick up students at the lower entrance. Students will not be dismissed from the office during this time.
  3. All authorized adults and parents will be required to present a form of Identification in order to sign the child out of school.

Hans Herr Elementary School

Arrival

Students being transported by parents are required to be dropped off at the lower gym lobby between 8:40 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. Students should not arrive at school before 8:40 a.m. At 8:55 a.m. the entrance is locked. Students arriving after 8:55 a.m. are considered tardy and are required to report to the building office with their parents to sign in before going to their classrooms

Dismissal

When a child is being picked up early, the child must bring a parent note to school in the morning. Emails and faxes will not be accepted. Cut off time for all end of day transportation changes is 2:30 p.m. A child will only be released to persons on the Student Release Form and/or with appropriate written notification, from the parent, including child's name, teacher, and time of release. Adults picking up students should be prepared to show identification. If permission is being requested for a child to be picked up by another parent from school, a note of approval is required from the requesting parent. These notes must be given to the student’s teacher at the beginning of the day. Please include your child’s first and last name, his / her teacher’s name, and your signature. Each student requesting a parent pick-up will be required to meet his/her parent at the designated parent pick-up location. Students being picked up will not be released directly from the classroom.

Pick-up Procedures

  1. Prior to 3:10 p.m. and after 3:35 p.m. - Parents must sign out and pick up students at main office.
  2. Between 3:10 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. - Parents must sign out and pick up students at the lower gym lobby. Students will not be dismissed from the office during this time.

Martin Meylin Middle School

Arrival

Students being transported by parents are required to be dropped off at main (front) entrance to the school, utilizing two lanes. Parent drop-off should never occur in the bus drop area. Students will be permitted inside the building at 7:05 a.m. to wait in the lobby. Teachers will open classrooms at 7:20 a.m. and students should be in their seats in homeroom by 7:30 a.m. Students arriving after 7:35 a.m. are considered tardy and are required to report to the office to check in and get an excuse card.

Dismissal

Students will be picked up in the lower parking lot by the gymnasium/Grand Hallway entrance. Students who are picked up by parents will be dismissed as “All Others” at 2:50 p.m.

Lampeter-Strasburg High School

Arrival

Students being transported by parents are required to be dropped off at the front office entrance. Parent drop-off should never occur in the bus drop area. Students will be permitted inside the building as early as 7:00 a.m. to wait in the vestibule. Teachers will open the double doors at 7:20 a.m. and students must be in their seats by 7:35 a.m. Students arriving after 7:35 a.m. are considered tardy and are required to report to the office to check in and get a late pass. Anyone arriving after 8:05 a.m. will not be eligible for that day’s extracurricular activities without a doctor’s note or administrative approval.

Dismissal

Students will be picked up outside the front office. Students are dismissed at 2:45 p.m.
